Check out the Daily Mail 28.12.07 - p88, article entitled 'The next big thing?' in overseas property and Turkey is cited as the 'emerging star' of the 2008 overseas property markets - with a special mention for Altinkum as the place to grab a bargain.

Of course, this article is purely the paper opinion but you do seem anti the area, so İ thought İ'd raise this counter opinion - keep your eyes and ears open - Altinkum and the Didim area as a whole are on the way to a higher status. The area is ripe for investors who shop sensibly: Johnsouthcombe says he has bought in MaviŞehir - which isn't Altinkum but is a quiet sleepy authentic resort within Didim but a 20 minut
bus ride from Altinkum. Mavi Şehir has miles of beach and is steep in archaeological sites. On paper he has made a sensible investment - the area is developing very slowly compared to Altinkum. Mavi Şehir is an excellent area to invest.
