Firstly, it isnt green belt per se but simply rural land as it does not border the local town's community.
Secondly, the difference is that there has been a lot of ground work selling, buttering up, justifying (or whatever you want to call it) the development with the decision makers regarding this particular bit of land.
My opinion is that it will get the green light as all districts have to have a plan to present to central govt setting out how they intend to provide for population growth- as they are obliged to do so. This project ticks the boxes and means the council can adopt it and save themselves a whole lot of work.
However, I am not sure that it will be this summer- I imagine it will get drawn out beyond that towards the end of the year.
That said, by way of balance, I do not think the above news letter adds any concrete indications that outline planning is contractually any nearer. For that reason, the 'early payment discount' for the next installment on plots currently being offered, seems to smack of a little too much desperation for my liking. If they really have sold 560 plots at an average 15/20k euros a pop, why is more money needed to top up the 10 million or so they should currently be holding?
