well my list of needs also included the fact it had to be SAFE from major crime, which I'm sad to say may of the islands are not. It took 10 years and countless visits and I ended up on a group of islands called the Turks and Caicos. The main island Grand Turk is very small, however the centre of all that goes on is called Providenciales, we are on Grace Bay and it is perfect for us..(do a google search of images of grace bay). If you want something even more remote consider Salt Keys or North Caicos.....as far as price, well its best to be here as you get to know people who know people, maybe rent for a while and see its right first.
