The flats in the rental pool systems will get more than that per month with all condo fees, IPTU(council tax) and electric and water included, plus they are cleaned for you just like a hotel service. (I have several for sale that last year returned aan average of 1250 R$ per month or more). On the other hand if you are renting for a year, sure it will be possible you can get a house or apartment for around 1000R$ per month. It will not be near the beach or n tourist areas though!!
