Hi Mike

I presume you are hinting at an investor visa, and most of the answers you have already received are pretty close to the mark apart from a couple of major errors:

For this purpose, you must be in Brasil to start the process - even if this is to give a Power of Attorney for others to act on your behalf. Simply sending copies of documents will not suffice. And would you really be prepared to entrust all this to someone you have not even met?

If your business account is inactive for certain periods you may lose your visa. You must be able to prove that your business is involved in a 'productive activity' within 2 years of the visa being granted. Sounds like you may be trying to beat the system - which many others have tried to do, and is the reason this rule has been introduced.

Finally the adage 'pay peanuts and you will get monkeys', has never been truer than in this context. Immigration through the investor visa is now a complicated, and costly, proceedure. There are numerous so called experienced immigration attorneys (many are not even attorneys, let alone experienced), and people offering a cheaper service than the next guy. Most are not up front about all the numerous fees and costs involved, let alone all the implications, ROF passwords, etc. And they want you to entrust your future with them?!

On this forum mention has been made of people waiting 2 years for their visa, and in one case, I believe, 8 years. If you decide to proceed, tread with caution. I did, and that is why I have an investor visa, and have now helped others get one as well.
