St. Maarten is definitely very "hot" for real estate investments. I live in the dutch Caribbean, and both St.Maarten and Aruba are very popular. Curacao ( the largest island) is less popular, but offers better opportunities for investors at the moment because it has not really been "discovered" as yet so the real estate prices here are still significantly below the prices on other islands. But all that may change soon, since the tourist office is very busy promoting the island as a tourist and investment "hot spot". That's one reason why I decided to focus on the Curacao market for the next couple years. There is a lot of real estate action going on here with lots of opportunities for investors, buyers and sellers.
