Yes a Notory stamped it but this can be done by a Notory on your behalf if you sign n the doocuments?? Any how i am sure it will be sorted either way as we really do not need a POA unless you wish to Register. Meters etc can be sourced once a residence visa is gained.
I'm very aware of the POA's purpose thank you

But you're confusing me, are you or are you not continuing to use United Lawyers? Because if you're continuing with them then you wont need to get another POA done... will you? And if you're not continuing with them it will need to be revoked as you're choosing that they do not undertake the work you originally granted them power to do.

And i'm sorry for thinking that:

trotting down to the nearest Public Notary to get the POA notarised, then...
sending off the POA to the Foreign and Commonwealth and then the Egyptian Consulat, and then....
awaiting its return (which could take weeks) ....
and then sending to whichever appointed solicitor in Hurghada...... is leg work!! Of course it is and it makes my rush down to London the first time around, pointless! That rush was all due to the fact I was told my apartment was done in February...and it was March when i found out about the need for the above...and now i know my apartment wasn't ready at all. Now that it is done I cant legally complete because of this big hoo har!

As far as i'm aware the POA i have used granted them power to undertake all legal aspects of purchasing a property including transferring the ownership of the property under the purchasers name. This is separate to the registration process equivalent to the Land Registry here, although in Egypt it is currently an optional exercise.

Can i ask you who told you meters could be gained once a residents visa has been obtained?
