Why not try Honduras and the Bay Islands. We have been visiting and investing in Roatan for years. Its a fantastic destination for Scuba divers and the slightly more adventurous traveler and you can still get land for very cheap compared to most other Caribbean destinations. And, the locals/government are friendly to investors.
