Mortgage worries
hey, I seem to be in the same boat !
I have bought 2 apartments totaling 135sqm for 100k, in Friedrichshain Berlin.
I paid cash to seal the deal and not miss out. I spent another 15k on a full renovation, I now get 1200 euro a month in renting out fully furnished rooms to english speakers with 3 to 9 months or more contracts. But still the German banks wont take this into account !! they are fixated that I don't work and don't plan on, I have been living off money I inherited for the past two years, I am a photographer by trade and was living in India. Im now making a book and film with people in London, I will move my freelance registration to Germany soon
I had a mortgage all lined up and pre-approved from my Sparkasse for 84k, this was all done in Feb, while I waited and waited for 7 months for the Landregister to put through the paper work, I finally went back to collect my 84k only for them to say that they will only lend me money if own at least 5 apartments in the same building ??? GRRRRRR !!! they some how 'changed policy' during the last 3 months so I should have take the mortgage in Feb, this sounds like a load of BS to me !!!!!!!!!
HELP ??
