Dotty- you talk a load of cr*p!! Keith is absolutley right, Thomsons have also told me that the crew has to have a week stopover and that makes the route uneconomic. The flights have always been at least 90% full to my knowledge and I got the story confirmed that they had been denied another slot, to make 2 flights per week, from ground staff at the airport. Your comment that there is no demand is really showing how little you know!

Salvador, Bahia is northeast Brazil and I have people arriving from England on May 3rd and they paid 230 or 250 GBP roundtrip if I'm not mistaken. That's hard to beat.

It's a good price, First Choice I would say...but these are "early season" prices and they wll rise to over £400. Still not bad and all the more reason why Bahia wins over Natal....plus F Choice have 2 flights per week in summer...(Man/LGW) ...all the more reason why Natal will not boom and UK Operators have put their efforts into Bahia where it does the very job for them that Natal doesn't.

I travel to salvador every month, and one of the reasons, when I don't have business, are the restaurants. There are so many wonderful restaurants that one could go to a different one for lunch and dinner every day for well over a month and there would still be some great ones that you haven't been to yet.

I always plan to arrive in Salvador during lunchtime and the first place I go to is "Iemanjá". They have the best moqueca of anywhere you will ever find.....it's incredible.

Having just looked at the flights from the UK to Salvador there seems to be a hugh rise in June from(200+May)to way over (600 in June)flight only .So not cheap at all.Not sre if the brice includes Brasilian landing taxes either. If you can get out in May the do.

Just checking flights with TAP and Fly Brazil. Both have increased their flight prices to almost 900 pounds. There are out of season dates a little cheaper . It does appear that fuel prices are hicking up flight costs .The package holidays have crept up enormously too with a weeks package at the Serhs priced at 1,400 Euros +.Not a good valued holiday by any means!

The oil price is not pushing up flights to Dubai, down to £250 now! These prices to Natal are all about capacity.....and there isn't any..TAP must be creaming it and this is my whole point about the market in NE Brazil, until there is a decent airport, and transit routes are allowed through there prices will go higher and higher. Why, because there isn't any competition on the route. I think "Cartel" is the word we are searching for. So any ideas that this market will boom is ridiculous until there is more traffic.
