Hi Olicombet,

Foreigners are allowed 3 month visas, or a maximum stay of 180 days per year.

If you wish to apply for a permanent visa, one of the following conditions must be met:

1. You are married to a Brazilian.
2. You have a child with a Brazilian.
3. You invest 250.000 US Dollars or Euros in Brazil.
4. You have reached the age of retirement (50 years) with a pension.

There are various other visas required if you are to work in Brazil.
You will need to apply to your nearest Embassy.

Oli-Yes this would qualify.
There is a company based in the Fortaleza area who market properties at this price point and above who have a division that specialise in the visa application process. They commenced operations with legal services then expanded their activities into real estate to combine marketing properties with visa procurement on behalf of their purchasing clientele.

Default Esoteric knowledge.

OLi-As i say ,this is a specialist company adopting a (perfectly legal) procedure with proven results apparently.Asking a general lawyer for advice in this context is akin to inviting a bookeeper to establish an off shore structure to mitigate your international tax liability. As i have not used this company personally i am unable to recommend them;i am merely aware of their existance as a corporate entity who provide the solution.I intend to pay them a visit on my travels and will pm you with their details if having met them they are credible.
