If one were being the devils advocate, one could be inclined to think that because the licenses for such a large development was pushed through in such a short space of time (I mean - 2 months to analyse the ecological impact of an area that size?) that maybe they did "give in" but were caught out?

I hope they get it and it goes ahead, however I wouldn't mind if they made it a little lower density and protected the beaches and the water tables a bit more.

GW is saying "I told you so" or something to that effect?, (I'm delighted to have him on ignore now) the fact that he makes millions of random statements without any proof means that he's bound to hit the nail on the head at some stage. Doesn't mean he misses it any less than he does. I can't even remember GW saying that GNG wouldn't get their licenses so what exactly did he tell you?

In a week or two I'll have a better idea of exactly where they are and will let you know what I find out.

Movements and development has taking polace and seems to be moving ever closer to a reality??

Like someone mentioned before that GS are not going to give in to brazilian government bribes- proves that they are a strong willed and reputable company in my eyes!!

BUT yet again if they had payed brazil the bribe money they wanted then licences and construction would have without a doubt been granted months ago!!!

GS have the money so thats not an issue- But i do believe that it is out of principle that they have not paid a bribe!!

Which makes me feel more confident about the developers and the way in which they do OR DO NOT DO BUSINESS SHOULD I SAY!!!

Take care-D

You're assuming a heck of a lot Dee. And even when/if one pays a bribe, or several, that does not mean they are going to receive their approvals in short order. Especially when talking of a project of this size. You can bet that there are local people on the ground there, even competitors, that are going to be
evaluating every document with a fine tooth comb.

Hi all,

Ralph- I was merely repeating a previous post in which someone mentioned this grey and very interesting area !

Either way though it is a known fact that governments are prone to bribes and mis-leading information!

There is only one thing you need to know about governments around the world is that politics revolve around money and power and the little brown envelopes come in handy when you need something approved and that is a common fact regardless or who or where you are???

Take care-D
