Just wondering if anyone has any advice or other recommendations on where to go....and where not to go.
I'm happy to consider off-plan investments and have heard prices in and around Natal are set to increase drammatically with the expansion of the airport and better transport links.
Any advice would be most appreciated.
Concerning the four main cities you were recommended: If you want to consider only 4, consider Salvador, Recife, Natal and Fortaleza, Joao Pessoa is still comparably out in the middle of nowhere with regards to tourism. Unless you get prioces in JP which reflect this. Most of what I've been offered in JP is at same prices to the other cities which welcome far more tourists.

I've been mainly a daily lurker to date but thought I'd add that I'm in for the long haul with investments in Natal and Bahia regions. Relatively low up front investments in a beautiful area within a country enjoying solid economic conditions.

A couple of nice little additions to my modest portfolio.

Cheers

Welcome to the bear pit Boah, good on ya...sounds like you've spread your risk. I am getting fed up with paying £800 for airtickets so the more bums on seats suits me!

Hi Richard, Before you arrive here think carefully what you want to achieve with an investment. Holiday home or Buy to Let. The only option if you want both is Aparthotel investment. This is virtually guaranteed to give you a reasonable income return with the rights to use it for some weeks. Rental guarantees are usually built into a price. I am happy to discuss with you various investment options before your arrival in Natal, and meet with you here to show you these options. Thomsons have some very good flight only options if you are coming alone, and accommodation can be arranged easily here, otherwise their all in packages are good value as well, but are 2 persons sharing a hotel room. You can send a PM to me if you wish me to help in this.

Hi Andy
If you are here for all of Feb. then you will be here for Carnaval! Give me a call 0055 84 99558713 or skype me -name michaelbush- and let me know your dates. Renting is easy, lots of options, depending what you expect to pay. I can find some prices for you for furnished accommodation for 6 months.

Anyone know of developments in Cumbuco?

Here's some photos of the place I bought in Cumbuco:

Rental - Royal Cumbuco Penthouse

I'm very happy with my investments, and can only see the prices increasing as Brazil becomes more and more popular.

Hello -

I will eventually be an owner in the future. I'm comping all of Brazil that last few years, I pound the pavement and reseacrh it alone. I was also scammed in small town north of Natal (in 2002-03) on a rogue land deal. We lost about $100k. I'll post about my experience. In Brazil, you gotta be careful and use your instincts with people because Brasilians will screw you all the way to the Bank, all the while smiling in your face. Not all of them, but most; I estimate 80% are out to scam/screw gringos investing in Brazil.

Buyer beware when buying anything in Brazil.
