But can you please explain why you want to discuss opportunities in China in a forum dedicated to Brazil?

This confusion, little understood and not well documented, has been referred to in certain circles as the 'caipirinha effect'.

Conversely, when one eats undercooked food in China (fortunately extremely rare), the stomach emulates the samba.

Hence the confusion...

Default another new member to the forum

I'm very happy to have found this site. I built our house in Berlinque on Itaparica Island, off the coast of Salvador. It's a 3 bedroom, 2 bath, 110 square meters of pure relaxation.

I am married to a Brazilian who is originally from Bahia. We live most of the year in Greenwich, Ct. but i plan to spend more time in Bahia.

I'm starting a project to develop a small beach front community on Salvador's Litoral North, below Costa Do Sauipe. 130 sq meter single home construction. 26 units in total.

I'm a retired Wall St. guy now that trades for himself. I specifically trade gold and silver. Other than Brazil, precious metals is my other favorite topic.

KDJX, deedee, David Belk 'n' all !!

I need your views...

Turtle Bay prices have been hiked by the developer as promised earlier...
...and I am being offered to buy a plot at the earlier price which is some 15% less... Well this is because I had shown interest earlier and in principle registered for it, though I havent paid a penny...

Do you think it is a good offer ?

I do get these doubts :

1) If the demand is really so great, why not they sell it to someone at the current price instead of offering me at 15% less price

2) Even in good faith on the developer, whatever price increase we are talking about are only the prices quoted by the developer. When it comes to selling your property, are there real takers and for the price we would quote ?

3) The price Brazilian residents would pay for the same property would be much less... so they arent the ones who are gonna be the potential buyers when owners decide to sell in the open market !!

Gee

HI GEE,

DID YOU SIGN A RESERVATION AGREEMENT AT ALL??

Or did you just express interest before the price increase?? (Did you fill out any form at all??)

Dont bank on locals as your end buyers?? It will be europeans or north americans that can afford the prices!!

As the economy grows over many years to come to brazilians more affordable yet still very expensive to them in comparison!!

Hi deedee,

I have signed a reservation agrement form.

With this 15% hike and if the go by their projections, another 15% hike later this year, it would be a decent discount to acquire the propery at the reservation rates.

What is your opinion on the deal... and do you think there would be takers if I decide to exit later ?

Gee
