Hi my name is Benny and this is my first post in this forum. Im from Sweden and i have a flat in Natal, Ponta Negra. The location is perfect, close to shopping and the ocean.
I´ve been here now since 5 months now, furnishing the flat, working on some projects and doing a lot of surfing.
Any other members in Ponta negra?
I´ve just put the flat for sale but after that im going to buy something bigger hopefully.
Anyone having good advices what to buy next time? I want to buy in Ponta Negra or in some other neighbourhood in Natal.

/Benny

Ladies and Gentlemen -

I'm not sure if I ever introduced myself, so here goes.

Name: Ray
Location: Daytona Beach, Florida
Age: 40 years old
Occupation: Former long-time Landlord now Lender/Real Estate Consultant, Author and Website/Forum Owner
Hobbies: Family, Beach, Gym, Travel and Golf

I’ve traveled extensively in Latin America and Brazil for the last 10 years, and I've lived in Colombia and Brazil on two separate occasions lasting about two years total combined time living, and this does not count my extended stays, traveling abroad since 1999. My stays to Latin America and Brazil generally last on average 3-6 months. I also have experience in Europe, Spain and Portugal mostly. Unfortunately, I was also involved in a scam land deal north of Natal in 2001.

I'd like to finish and say that TotallyProperty is in my biased opinion the best Website/Forum on the Interent on worldwide Real Estate, and their Brazil Forum is loaded with great information.

-Thank you

Welcome Ray. I'd be curious to hear about whether or not you did any real estate activity in your travles/time spent in Latin America. I'd love to hear about them and learn from them

Greg

Hi Greg -

Thanks.

Right now, I'm involved in a few projects in Latin America.

My past projects were...

- Bought and sold a condo/adjacent land in Costa Rica.
- Group investment (Resort Hotel) in DR (Punta Cana), bailed out (possible scam)
- Expensive Flat transaction (deposit) in Rio de Janeiro (Lagoa area) - lost $5k
- Lost $100k on scam deal north of Natal, Brazil (MARACAJAÚ) next to Ma-Noa Water Park. Landowner 'Olga', and watch out she might scam you to!

I've walked the coast of every major city and small town in Brazil. from Floripa to Belem. Costa Rica, Panama, bussed around the DR for weeks and know Colombia like the back of my hand (and still alive to tell about it).

I am currently looking at RJ state, Pernambuco and other areas I'm not ready to divulge here!

Default commercial real estate

I read a lot about people investing in Brazil. Most foreigners buy in holiday resorts. I started like this to. My first property I bought in Fortaleza some years ago. Now I buy office space in commercial buildings in Sao Paulo. Does anyone have experience in this line of investment?

Leon
