hey,
excellent discussion here. Supports my theory, too. Compliments to JMBoard, once again. This thread has to be kept going, and updated. Its quite important information for any investor in Brazil. Can one post newspaper articles on this board? Or links? Just saw you can post links.

Dotty, is this some inside knowledge of yours because you are a local? I was offered this development ages ago and there a lot of agents both local and in the UK that are selling it.

The Green Club is in Nova Parnamirim area some 15 minutes drive (the back way) into Ponta Negra. The other is in a road called Jaguarari, a principal road traversing the city. Both are built for Brasilians but some foreigners may also choose to live in these condos. Green Club I believe sold the plots and then have a house built on it. If you are interested I can find out availability for you. There are plots still available of for re-sale too. In Natal there are many well known condos locally and they are not usually what the foreigner would buy unless moving permanently here.

I can't say that I am really interested in that area. First I'll buy something for myself, that is gringo quality, but brazillian price! From there I'll look for investments in other properties. The area up there might be interesting too, later for investment purposes, if brazilians go there, don't know about it yet however. I think you have understood my basic idea, how I want to go about it. I am happy for all the information you guys can give me, just want to say I won't buy anything tomorrow, if you get my point.

EU suspends Brazil beef imports

BBC NEWS | World | Americas | EU suspends Brazil beef imports

Brazil, which defaulted on its debt in the 1980s and declared a moratorium on debt payments, is riding a boom in demand for key exports such as beef, iron ore and soy.

There are two sides to every story!

Sorry if I appear dense, GW but are you implying that the food and hygiene standards of Brazilian beef is the "other side of the story" to the upgrade of Brazil to investment level by three of the leading financial analysts in the world?

Sure there may be a minor impact however considering the upgrade was months after that news article, which is now 6 months old, I'd probably suggest if there is another "side to the story" that it'll be something else.
