I've been watching threads on this forum for a long while now - all I can say, is "horses for courses", "one man's meat is another man's poison", etc about where and what to buy in Bulgaria.... Mostly, what I can see on here is just estate agents selling you something, which is not good.

It depends upon what you like and also what you want from Bulgaria and your property investment - are you in it for the quick buck now, or the long term? Do you want to rent the property out? Is it to be your main home with subsidiary income? ...... Many many questions spring to mind. I think the people who have given the replies so far have not at all tried to centre on what each of you might want, rather they have given the general commercialised point of view (and probably each have something to sell, most likely a property!).

Anyone buying in BG (just like buying in the UK) has reasons for doing so - and each person's reasons have to be explored so that they can find what they want. There is no 'good' area to buy in for everyone ... it depends upon what you are looking for.

You can easily buy a seriously good investment here in Bulgaria, just don't get carried away by others. Use your instincts and don't believe everything you read or see on the internet.
My answer to them would be this - the reason we set up our magazine was to stop this kind of nonsense, to stop people ripping off other people and to better inform Brits as to what is really going on. Yes, we have our magazine but we are Brits who have moved here, live here, set up a brand new business here and work here. Yes, we take money from advertisers - this is so that we can cover the printing costs and postage of the magazine to expats to help them. The main thing is that we have no axe to grind, we are impartial, independent of everyone including real estate agents, developers, builders... and we can let other Brits know what really goes on in BG
