Hi Jane & Chris, as you`ve seen from my first post my concerns are primarely with the management company we are with at the moment.Since that post, one of my colleagues has received an e-mail from them after expressing our concerns about what we had been told.Their reply has`nt done much to reassure us,in fact, their indifference on the matter is quite apparent.

Hi Boo, thanks for the reply

If you could talk on here what the problems were, then maybe we could sort it out for you?

Please do share your info and that way we can find a solution together?

Cheers!

The contract was for 12 months and it expires in october. As for taking them to court i think it would have to be done collectively as we personally have no proof that our apartment was let illegally. We are presuming that ours could have been let, based on the information given to us by another owner who has,or had a contract with the same management co.Is there anyone who has had any experience with the court process in bulgaria, what was the outcome and was it worth it?

it's not worth dealing with any bulgarian court. The court is often affiliated with the frauds, you may only lose your time and money. That's my experience so far.

Default RE: courts!

Hi Boo,

If your contract runs out in october anyway then Id just ride out the next few months and find an alternative rental company instead!!

As if you were to try to take it to court or appoint your solicitor to deal with it then it will be a very stressfull, time consuming and costly process!

Cut your losses and start a fresh- and learn from mistakes that have been made along the way!!

Good luck- take care,

D

It is quite right, don't bother going to court - as you say yourself, you have no grounds to do so and as Deedee says it will be expensive and you are most likely not to win - just learn from this and take your own course.

You certainly can find many decent property management companies in your area who will work decently and not charge you too much. BUT you have to ask yourself whether you are prepared to contribute to the effort or not?

If yes, then you should build your own web site and market it yourself. If no, then you should expect them to be genuine and honest - and charge the maximum for letting your property for your benefit.

Properties which are front line or well placed in Bulgaria are doing well with rentals, but you as an owner have to decide whether you want to monitor, assist with this, or even take charge yourself.

The more you do, the cheaper - and even more effective? - it will become.

Cheers
