The lawyers details are on my website under 'legal' - see signature below but she can be contacted on m_gergana@hotmail.com

I will have to check with original investor before giving out his personal details here, however it is much easier if he co-ordinates all matters as he is here to visit lawyer, report back to others in group, check all appropriate paperwork has been received and chase up stuff that has not and so on.

He was keeping an eye on the forums but guess he is busy co-ordinating group action at the moment as things progress.

Default maybe so

I know of an apartment for sale there if you want one!!!!
But there are numerous problems with rentals, facilities available, management charges and so on. And whether nice or not does not help those people waiting for their refund over 3 years later.

I am another pomorie investor who took the refund option and realises it was all lip service. I would definately like to join ranks and support trying to recoup the money.

Regards

Default We are still waiting for our money back!

I see that no one has posted for a while. I would like to remind people that MANY people are still waiting for their money back from PDI and that this has not been resolved. A couple recently took PDI to court.

I am not allowed to post a link as I have not posted over 5 times but the article is available on a website called home eircom. If you search in google you should be able to find it.

quote from the article:

"Ms Justice Dunne said ... It was undoubtedly the case that the Uwens had not been repaid the €215,000 and had been treated "very shabbily by Sunset Resort OOD and Mr O'Reilly"."

In this case the judge ruled that the case could not be held in Ireland, it would need to be held in Bulgaria. However as quoted above it is clear that pdi did not return the deposit of this one couple, which was €215,000.

Default another quote from the article

"Mr and Mrs Uwen had said they remortgaged their home in England in 2003 to invest in the Pomorie Golf and Beach Resort in Bulgaria, owned by a Dutch company, NV Capital Ground and Building Investment (CGBI). It was developing the lands through a holding company.

The Uwens say they paid CGBI €215,000 for 14 apartments and two commercial units, representing 20 per cent deposits on the purchase, and received receipts."

Hey guys, come on now... if you are paying 215,000 euros in deposits alone, wouldn't you check out everything thoroughly???? What is going on here? Very strange... I have no doubt there are scams in Bulgaria.... but robbing what are true investors of this kind of dosh sounds bizarre to me? People who have that kind of money for a deposit are not so easily fooled!

Default yes and no

They are the ones that we found that have had the most money invested in the project. People invested different sums. I personally invested 14k, which I am STILL waiting to get back from PDI. My information at the time was that if the company goes bust in Bulgaria you risk losing your money. I was aware of this. The company then had problems. BUT then PDI bought the company, taking over it's debts, which they are now refusing to honour.

They sent out agreements to all investors saying they could continue with the project or have their money back. They then gave the money back to their Irish investors who had chosen that option, presumably to have less hassle at home and sent all the other investors of a wild goose chase.

The article I quoted originally came from the Irish Times. Maybe I am allowed to post now... nope still not able to post it.

Given my own personal situation, and those of all the people I know who are also owed money by Sunset/PDI I can happily believe it. It is unfortunate that this couple may have lost so much money but ultimately it just makes the behaviour of Neil o'Reilly/Sunset/PDI even more shocking.
