Default hello, everyone say hi here

Hello all, just suddenly thought that I hadn't introduced myself properly.

Suddenly I find myself a "moderator", I'm not sure what that entails in its entirety: I'm beginning to find out

To start the introductions, which I hope very much you will all follow, even if you have been on this board for some time :

My name is Jain and my husband is Chris (him from the North of the UK and me from the South, so you can imagine the family situation!).

We've lived in Bulgaria for four years now and were expats in France for 10 years before that.

As you will have seen; we live here with our superb german shepherd dog, called peluche (meaning of her name is 'fluffy thing').

I worked in a notarial office in France running their real estate section for 10 years (which Bulgarian law is based upon) and Chris ran a printing and publishing company during that time (with a magazine to help Brits understand the buying process in France and living there).

When we saw what was going on in Bulgaria, we knew that the buyers of Bulgarian property needed much help.

Chris had been coming and doing business with Bulgaria since 84 and my father was Hungarian... so, with our experience of Eastern Europe we decided the best way forward was to assist as many as possible. In our third year of publication, we are still growing which shows this considerable market.

Enough of us, what about you guys out there? What ya buyin', what d'ya want to do?..........

Say 'hi' here please.

Is it really necessary to hear your life story. I mean come on, THIS is a forum for people to share info about property not about their German Shepard, and stuff...

Hi all,

I have 3 irish red setters called BRANDY, SHERRI & BAILEY, all named after a very drunken xmas eve!!!

Have 2 kids a hubbie and a father in law who lives with us!

Spent my whole life working 60-70 hours a week, shift work ,weekends , bank holidays etc ...you name it!!

Decided a couple of years back to take some time out and spend more time at home and take on a few overseas investments to hopefully sell on in a few years time, make a few squid and pay off our mortgage in the uk and live as debt free as possible!!

Only time will tell!!

Our first house we bought in the uk we did up and doubled in value within 3 years then we bought another bigger fixer upper in a better neighbourhood!

The last few years I have bought property over seas in BULGARIA, CYPRUS AND RECENTLY BRAZIL!!

Still have my eye on egypt at the moment- just out of personal preferance more than anything!!
But I am seriously eyeing up the ALBANIAN and Nicaraguan market right now as this could be a VERY INTERESTING investment opportunity!!

See ya D

p.s- I personally dont think that peoples background history is boring at all!!

Ive done many weird and wonderful things with my life and dont regret anything and am extremely proud of the life I have today!!

Clearly others have issue they need to deal with in their own pathetic lives!!

Hi Linkbuz

Welcome on board - good to see you here!

Can you tell us a bit more about yourself? Also, I'm not sure I understand what you are asking in your post, perhaps if you would give us more info then we could all help you.

Catch you later

Hi Francky

Pets or not - you are very welcome

It would be good to hear more about what you have bought in Bulgaria - where, why......

Perhaps you'd like to start a new thread "my personal experiences of buying in Bulgaria" - could be a laugh and also have some wise tips and hints thrown in.

All the best and if there is any help we can give, just shout !

It would also be good to give tips about people's bad experiences - like all those people posting in other threads about the fact they claim they are still owed around 400,000 Euros as a result of the Sunset Resort/Platinum Development fiasco. Most companies are reputable, most people have a good experience, most people make money and enjoy a better life - sadly my experience is different and the fact that a company like Platinum Developments can be writing to you one minute when they want something from you but then ignore everyone's phone calls, emails and letters when it is the other way round would make me very wary of encouraging anyone to do business with them.

Hi newlanark99

Welcome to the Bulgarian forum

That's a great idea about good and bad tips and experiences... good to share information like this.

I do think though, that this has to be unbiased and impartial information and if someone says something good or bad this needs to be backed up with hard facts (with supporting written evidence if required) on the forum - it cannot be a "name and shame" experience open to all and sundry who just want to slate an agent (be they buyer or other agent!!!).

It would make a great thread as long as it was really correct and informative. I'd be happy to open this thread and let it run as long as what is said is fair, impartial and correct. In fact, I'll start this now

All the best and thanks,
