Just wanted to say hello.
This is my first post on the site forum.. I like most of you have a property that requires furnishing and renting upon completion. I have a Studio in Topaz in the greenfields project which is due for completion March(have heard there are delays). I am travelling again to Romania next week, to view my investment and get up todate information on completion dates, whilst I am there I will look at companies that deal with furnishings and rentals. Knowing Romania well I am sure that the address in the message above is a flat, and not a business address.

[u]2A Dimitrie Cantemir Street, Block P2, Clients Entrance A, Floor 3, Ap. 8, Sector 3
Bucharest
ROMANIA

Thank you
Shell

Give them a call and see what they can do before you go.

Hi Mick
I have followed the links and had a look at the web site.. not so sure that I would use them... I go to Romania quite regular and so will pop in to check anyway. Not a great deal of information on it just a lot of dummy pages. I was a bit surprised at the content for a company that has been going several years. Anyway I love Bucharest especially and am going for yet another investment.

Good for you.
I am fond of Bucharest also but have not invested there yet. I know the green fields project pretty well. and like that particular district.

I don't know anything about the furniture company only that they may be another option. If their quality is good and prices seem to be good well great. If not then at least you know
I would love to know how you get on after your trip when you have talked to the different companies and got some concrete details.
I sure there are a lot of people wondering the same and your feedback would be appreciated.

Mick - Many thanks for your assistance on this, it's always nice to get a recommendation from someone.

I had already contacted them a few days ago by co-incidence and was just considering my options..which at the moment are either going through a company who supply a full pack including kitchen and installation eg. the one above....or the alternative is to go via IKEA in Bucharest and request that they supply and fit our furniture (or certainly the heavy / technical bits eg. Kitchen). Certainly either way will be a lot cheaper than going via our friends off the TV!!

I've got the impression there are quite a few 1st time buyer's with the same issue which is some what re-assuring and it's always nice to get feed-back from other's. I'd be very interested to see how Shell get's on over there and what she comes up with as I know it would be beneficial to many others.

The other option where this is concerned would be if it's imperative that we supply furniture, as some tenants to supply their own. I guess it depends on what sort of client's your after.... I don't know the local market enough to know what sort of impact it would have on rental potential if it was un-furnished.

Anyway, thank-you for your advice etc and hopefully we can all get this resolved.

Shell - I will send you an e-mail with my details incase you would like to share any info etc.

Furniture Direct Worldwide are a company with no phone numbers on their website and their registered address is nothing more than a hired postbox in London. Their furniture is from the far east and of low quality. Simple as that.

Default Furniture Direct Worldwide

My understanding is that FDW have been around for a good while selling & installing furntiure packs for many a developer and estate agent including you know who I dare say. (which might explain why we got that email from them)

More recently they have started to sell "direct" to investors which is great news judging by the quality of their furniture and their low prices.

My brother in law used them in Bulgaria and Turkey and has been happy with both (he actually visited his property in Bansko after the installation) and I have ordered with them for my apartment in Bucharest.

Hope this helps, good luck with your investment.

Hi And33,
Dont know where on earth you get your information from, but I used them for both of my apartments in Spain and they did exactly what they said on the tin. I transfered my money reluctantly through my bank and am quite happy to reccomend them.
I have no hesitation for using them to furnish my apartment in Adelade over in Romania also.

Hi all,

1st time on this forum and have invested in Bucharest (also 1st time investor)

Does anyone have any information regarding rentals?? I have absolutely no confidence in my Estate Agent after what I've heard and read about them (wish I'd known this before i dealt with them)

I'm in Greenfields in North Bucharest.
