What is it with you people ?. You invest large sums of money in a property, but can't /won't spend a few hundred to go over there and sort out the furnishings yourself ?. Please don't tell me you haven't got the time. If that really is the case then just send all your money to me and I will come up with a " can't lose , guaranteed, luxury development, rental guarantee of, say 10% (actually, whatever I need to get the sale) for, oh, as many years as sounds good. When it all goes tits up, simply come on a forum like this and start bleating, "Well, the agent promised.......". Harsh ?. Yes. Realistic ?. Yes !.

First of all there is nobody "bleating" here!
There are investors who want and give impartial advise for the most part.
Its the decision of the investor whether he/she wants to go over to that country or not and is their choice.
Some would find it pretty daunting going to a country with a language barrier and one that may not be a westernized as theirs.

If you had a development and you wanted to do it yourself, good for you. I would probably go over myself too.

The last four lines of your text have nothing to do with furniture packs?
They are relevant but misplaced. I wll start a thread on things to be cautious of.
Its forums like this one that people can come and get information so there is less chance of it going tits up.

I am sure that the address in the message above is a flat, and not a business address.

Bucharest
ROMANIA

Thank you

Dear Shell

The above address is in fact a business address. Being as familiar as you are with Bucharest you will already know that probably 95% + of downtown offices are in fact in converted apartments. In some cases whole blocks converted into office as is the case in buildings such as Stiracco. I have attached a link of the location and perhaps if you visit you will have a different opinion. Many investors in Romania with several well known companies with flash offices, fountains and BMWs have been duped by flash not realising they are the ones who are paying for it.

It will be interesting to see how confident those of you who bought some of the off plans 12-18 months ago fare out. Personally I think if you get 6% rental return on them you will be doing exceptionally well, However, as a company operating from an old Comunist block (The same build quality as Unirii Bvld & built in 1992) that has now a current value of in the region of 3,500-4000 per meter and a potential rental yield of 8% we do stand to be corrected.

Good luck to all seeking furniture pack, IKEA is probably the most expensive IKEA Branch in Europe. They will charge you an additional 10% for assembling the furniture and realistically another 10% to deliver it or more dependant on what floor you are on. As for your electricals and gas, are you aware you need to be there when qualified person comes to fit them. That a washing machine guarantee is not valid unless the company supplying fits it?

Romania is not a market that can be looked at through Anglo Celtic Binoculars. There are many variances to that what investors are accustomed to. We look forward to hearing from you.

Default Furniture Package & Rental

hi, we are first time buyers in bucharest to the tunari development . we also have the same concerns regarding our furniture package . the costs being put to us by the agents seem high & we have concerns over fdw who seem to work out of fuengerola spain and there replys to our enquires seem at times to be vague. they have offered payment by credit card & are a little vague regarding the rental & rental return expected.I would have thought that as romania is known for its furniture manufacturing & relative costs being low would have expected to have been offered a local solution to the situation. does anyone have any info on furniture packages & rentals we are due to complete in june

I had to respond to your post as I to have 2 completed investments and 2 due to complete in greenfield Bucharest in a few months. I was also contacted by a big company on the tv*** and was shocked at the prices they quoted to furnish a studio and a 1 bedroom. Needless to say I said No... the company I used for the first 2 investments offered an all in package. I was contacted by telephone and was asked for a completion date, upon completion they collected my keys cleaned the property, installed my kitchen and furnished it totally with good quality furniture, my first 2 properties are now being rented through them. I will use the same company for my next investments and would be pleased to pass on information if needed.
Hope this helps...
I would be interested in the details of the people you used to furnish your properties

Hi Guys. This is my first post on this forum to. In relation to furniture packs for Romania. I totally agree with Mick the property Guru on who he reccomends. I own 2 properties in Romania and they are handled by Property Management Romania. Admittedly I did buy them from them, but what I will say for them is they presented me with a bill for furnishings at the end and did not demand money up front. Both properties were then rented at the rate they told me and I have received my rent every 3 months after their commission. They may not be as big as the TV company spoken off here, but I have had no headaches and was also able to get references before using them. All in all I am very impressed with the service they provided and have no problem endorsing them to anyone at all so please feel free to message me

HI I am just about to complete on a property in Topaz, Bucarest Romania, and I was wondering is there any more feedback on F.D.W or our friends on TV as I have been offered Furniture packages from both and not sure what to do! Any feedback on any of companies would be greatly appreciated.

Try this as a 3rd alternative as they also look after the rental aspect.
