Default Furniture Packs - Furniture Direct Worldwide?

Hi,

1st time purchaser who's due to complete in Bucharest in the next couple of months and am after any feed-back on the above company or if anyone has had any dealings with them?

We need to funish our appartment for letting purposes and have been contacted by the above company offering to do this on our behalf. We've checked their web-site which looks fine, but I can't find anything else on the web about them...which in this day and age is slightly unusual. We've also got concerns that they won't take payment by card, want payment to a spanish bank a/c and contact is made via e-mail unless they call us etc.

Compared to the package being offered to us by our agent...who shall we say is one of the biggest names in the business and on our TV's....the package from Furniture Direct works out about EUR4000 cheaper.....but we are just worried about how genuine they are etc?

Has anyone had any dealings with them in the past or with my agent *** who are are charging through the nose.

Any advice regarding this or furniture packs would be appreciated.

Cheers

Can you not go there and shop?

Furniture is one of the things that vary substantially in quality and it is almost impossible to tell from a photo.

4,000 euros LESS? That means you are planning on spending a lot more than 4,000 euros. For that much money I'd go and pick out what I wanted, and be there to meet the delivery.

Furniture for vacation lets must be sturdy, but also stylish and comfortable.

If you buy a package, then won't your unit be furnished exactly like every other unit? You want your unit to stand out, so that returning vacationers ask specifically for your unit.

From Europe can you order deliveries from IKEA? That's good stuff, well made, stylish, and inexpensive. Could you order a full shipment and pay someone to meet the shipment and place the furniture?

Have you looked into a shipping container from your own home area? You could pick out what you want and have it shipped. Usually, it is a pric per container, and you can send as much stuff as you can get into the container.

Are you not going there to check your building when the sale is final? You could be there to met a shipping container, and simply pay a couple of local movers to move the furniture into the house for you.

by the way, it that part of the world, it should be possible to order very nice teak furniture from some of the Indonesian counties. Shiping would be pretty much a straight line in an ocean container.

I've seen some lovely stuff, and if they can get it to America and into the shops for a reasonable price, they can certainly get it to Hungary.

Thumbs up Apartment Furnishings

Hi Gregs100
Thought I would let you know you are my very first post on this forum..

I had to respond to your post as I to have 2 completed investments and 2 due to complete in greenfield Bucharest in a few months. I was also contacted by a big company on the tv*** and was shocked at the prices they quoted to furnish a studio and a 1 bedroom. Needless to say I said No... the company I used for the first 2 investments offered an all in package. I was contacted by telephone and was asked for a completion date, upon completion they collected my keys cleaned the property, installed my kitchen and furnished it totally with good quality furniture, my first 2 properties are now being rented through them. I will use the same company for my next investments and would be pleased to pass on information if needed.
Hope this helps...

Default Apartment Furnishings

Hi FDI,

Thank-you for replying..like me it was our first post, but seems it may have been worth it!

I've got a feeling we're in exactly the same boat with regard to what we've both been offered and that we are also buying in Greenfields.

I'm doing everything possible to avoid using "the expensive option", so am really looking for a recommendation with regard to an all-in package from a reliable supplier in Bucharest and the possible option of renting via them as well.

The fact that you've been down this road twice already sounds good, so I'd really be grateful if you could assist in any way or point me in the right direction and perhaps we can compare notes!!

Many Thanks

Ya they seem a very expensive company, the company on tv. I know the area and the development you have invested in, close to Tunari on the E60 between the 2 airports before the ring road. Its a good investment. If its completing in a few months you must have got in phase 1 so you have made money already. Well done.
Huge investment going on around you.

Thanks Mick...it's our 1st overseas investment, so we've gone in at the deep-end a bit are are naturally a bit nervous.

Assuming we can get through the next couple of months eg. completion / furnished / rented out then hopefully the long-term plan can kick in and we can start to enjoy it!

We've heard a few stories about the amount of property for rent etc, but hopefully we've got in early enough and are in the right location.

All the Best
