I have spoken to 2 real estate agents today, and both are saying the same thing about my town (Bend, Oregon, USA):

Buyers are out and shopping. Property is selling. Properties are in escrow and starting to close (sale completed)

One of them also said that some properties are selling for 25% reduction in price over what they would have sold for a year ago.

Take 25% off and get 2 dollars for every pound you spend and the investors from Britain are missing an opportunity if they aren't shopping in the USA.

Bend Oregon is a ski resort town with lots of different activities and year round tourism. It's the place I like best, but there are other really nice towns in the USA that are good solid safe places to invest.

My advice for the USA is to invest in places where people want to live and stay out of depressed and slum areas.
