Default Re: Golf Club Sale!

Hi all,

There have been some rumours recently on other forums that North cyprus korineum golf club is up for sale..???

I have been assured and a member at the golf club have confirmed that the club is NOT FOR SALE!

They have only recently opened the club and have spent millions in making it a flagship development and would be silly to sell it already!

The club is not as busy at the moment as they expected but this will change dramatically over the next few years as so many resorts, properties and developments are being built in the nearby areas which is attracting holiday investors and people re-locating/retiring abroad so the future will be bright for the club! They just have to be patient for a while!

The golf club is the main driving force for all this surrounding development going on particularly in the areas of Esentepe, Bacheli and Tatlisu!

And also they have recently announced that they will be building an onsite hotel with facilities aswell so this is not a sign of a club in despair yet-surely!!!

See ya D

Default Illegality of buying property in North Cyprus

It is illegal to buy property or land that’s rightfully owned by Greek Cypriots. There are many Greek Cypriots living in the south who are refugees from the north and who believe that even visiting the north while it’s still under Turkish control is morally wrong.

WARNING
If you decide to buy property in northern Cyprus, you must ensure that you will have legal ownership of the land and property that’s being sold to you, even if Cyprus is reunited. most probably you will not.

Default Re: Legal And Moral Issues!

Hi charis,

Appreciate your comments and I am aware of the legal and moral issues surrounding cyprus and its land issues!

But it also works visa versa as it is not only the greek who have lost their homes and land and became refugees through the divide and military intervetions that toke place in 1974!

There are always two sides to every story!

See ya D

The golf and country club near Esentepe is up and running for about a year now. It is a beauty. Great golf with both sea and mountain views. The property in the area around Esentepe and Alagadi are set to rise in fine fashion in the coming months beyond what was expected since these areas have now been made into golf course properties -- and on the beach to boot.

I have been there and the course is "up to par". The country club has a deluxe spa and great dining.

While I understand that you are an upset Greek, let me put things in order. The entire issue of the Turkish presence in North Cyprus started as a result of a Greek military coup that committed war crimes (mass murder and rape) against the Turkish residents of Cyprus. The Turkish army came to protect these residents.

To be fair -- the Turkish military also committed crimes against humanity.

As per land ownership -- the same problem exists on both sides of the island and a proper title check by an private soliciter (not that of the developer) should be done.

The issue is political -- not legal

Look them up in Google -- they have a website of their own in English and Turkish. I will not post it here because commercial issues are not allowed -- but you can find it via the above mentioned seach engine.

GC's can only go back to 1974 and forget the issues prior to that. The fact is both sides committed war crimes as you say it is not one sided as the GC's would have the rest of the World believe.

There is an issue with title but GC's can now if they wish claim via the Property Board in the North who have given land back as well as paid compensation or even in some cases given them TC's land in the South.
