Default cyprus rental market

i am looking for a reputable rental company for a 2 bed apartment in Aya Napa, 5 mins walk fron Nissi beach. I bought it through a large company on T.V here in the U.K who also deal with furnishing and rentals. However, to get rentals with them you have to purchase their furniture package which i think is overpriced.

I am looking for other options. I have heard of a company called Ready Rentals which is linked to Furniture Direct Worldwide. Does anyone have any experience or views on this company that can give me any advice on them?

I use a company called Delia Property Management. They are based in Kapparis. They not only advertise my property on there website but the arrange the cleaning, maintenance, airport transfers everything.

I have been with them for over a year now and I have had no problems. They can also supply furniture packs as well.

What I suggest you do is find yourself a good property management company then the best way get the best rentals is to advertise your property with as many agents as you can. Try putting you property on these websites like owners direct that way you pay a one off fee per year and what ever bookings come through you do not have to pay any commission.

I wouldn't go with a worldwide company chances are they are so busy that you don't get the personal touch. A company only based in Cyprus is what I recommend.

Default Rentals

Judith,

I use a company who have recently opened a new office in Pernera, they are called G.N.MedBlue Property Management Services. I also purchased a furniture pack through them, as they were able to adjust to my budget.

I have been very happy with their services, they arrange everything for me (cleans, welcome packs, airport transfers etc)

If you would like their number or e-mail address just let me know.

If you don't mind me asking, what kind of prices do they charge. We should be taking possession of our apartment October. The developer has quoted UK£8000 for a furniture package not including curtains and bits and pieces. From the agent it would be about UK£12500. This is for a 3 bed apartment...

I noticed that the *** representative we met last year is working there which I think is why we received a mail !! In fact every one we met has now left and all my emails to them keep failing !!

Scallywag,

Why not go over to Cyprus and do it yourself ?. Assuming you want to rent out your apartment you only want basic, hard wearing stuff (e.g. pine beds). There is an IKEA in Nicosia, which has a delivery service. That way you will know exactly what you are getting, you'll have a break in the sun, and it will cost you far, far less than the figures you've been quoted even allowing for travel costs. Trusting a third party to furnish your property could turn out to be a very expensive mistake.

We are planning on going over in October for snagging and purchasing bits and bobs but we are told that you now have to go in person to get the electricity supply sorted which can take up to 10 working days and we can only go for 10 days (incl. weekends) so I think some things we will have to trust to others to do

We could maybe get the advocate to sort the electricity out but I don't have much faith as she seems to be full of eastern promise !

I know I've read many threads on other forums and most seem to get good discounts if they negotiate prices

Why not contact the relevant Electrical Authority now to find out exactly what you need to do & what paperwork you require ?. If you are going over for 10 days, then spending one day shopping and one day assembling should be feasible. After all, you are unlikely to have tenants before next Easter.

Your developer will (should) have arranged for the property to be connected to the mains electricity supply. All you have to do is visit the EAC office and put it in your name and to arrange payment. This does not take 10 days!!!

Before accepting delivery, you must check that the property is connected to the mains supply. If it isn't, you could end up with electricity provided by the developer from a 'temporary' generator - or by a 13 amp supply from someone else's property.

If the property you have bought is not connected to the mains supply, you should refuse to accept delivery - the property has not been completed.

Read through your Contract of Sale to see what it says about the provision of electricity.

Cheers,

Default Long term cyprus property rentals

we have noticed a dramatic downturn in our holiday let enquiries over the last few months. Obviously financial restraints from uk clients, and air fares from the uk are still costly copared to spain etc.

However on a good note the long term property rentals here in Cyprus are very bouyant.
