[quote=Bora Horza;47223]There are some great opportunities in Dubai Sports City, and it is a terrific investment opportunity. The zone is really coming along and it is going to be amazing when completed.

Progress is being made as well - The golf course is completed and up and running, the cricket stadium is almost there - the zone is really taking shape. Dubai has also been reported as getting a bid in for the 2020 Olympics.

Facilities already built and in place. Sounds like a strong contender.
Tournaments have been booked already, the Rugby 7's World Cup for one, and the cricket stadium will be incredibly active.

The zone will be served by the new Metro, and as long as you choose a good location, it is a sound investment.

Have a look at the pictures below.

Hi Horza

One thing to bear in mind about Sports City is mortgages. Lloyds for example will not lend against property there, not sure about HSBC. Obviously even if you have cash the market for resale will be limited if mortgages aren't available.

On the wider subject of Sports City does anyone have any rumours as to what events could be held there? I suppose the obvious one would be the cricket world cup.

Dubai may put in a preliminary bid for 2020 but they have zero chance of getting it. It could only be held from October to May at the latest. Plus Dubai has never successfully held a large scale event, even the Asian games in Qatar were a total disaster. Dubai would need to hold something like the world student games first plus Israel would be a huge problem and the US delegates would not back an olympics from which Israel are banned.

I'd say cricket is the only hope.

You are right. Not many offering finance in Sports city. Falak is financed my Amlak, besides that you could probably count the projects where there could be finance.
