Default How do I know that the developer finishes the building?

I am thinking to invest in Dubai,
But I read an article that several developers have serous economical problems and they risk bankrupcy. To avoid this, they try to have some cash flow and so they put prices BELOW the actual cost to build the apartment. This may create a HUGE risks for new investors like me. The risk is to buy and never see the property completed, so legal actions, loss of large portion of the invested money....
How do I protect myself? What are the "solid" developers with a good financial situation that I can trust? Thank you.

Default reply: search for govement "backed Developers".

Romaforever.

try doing some search on the site and the developer, before you decide which development you wish to invest in. Companies like Damac, Emaar, are always a good investment. slightly higher in cost but more secure in funding.

p.s. we are both registered agents with them and mortgages providers.

DO I KNOW YOU LOL....yes i agree, only buy of someone that is reputable. Alot of small companies vanish with the money of others.

Default Do research and scrutinise every project. don't just go on price

Hi

was going through the threads and just thought that i would put in a note. Have a look at my thread http://www.propertycommunity.com/forum/dubai...ment-info.html
it will give some info on business bay. personally, i think that commercial office space is going to be booming. the smart investors are looking to business bay. it will be a mid to long term investment, but those who have the vision and have actually seen the plot know that it is going to be big.

look for concepts in business bay as they will create an identity for the the end user. and remember that when the end user likes a project to set up an office in, it is always good news for the investor that bought into the roject at an early stage.

look at the Chrysler building in New York. it does not have views apart from other buildings, no parks or water directly next to it. but it is an icon which is why business's love it. look at the Gherkin Building in London. it is an icon, with a slightly different shape which is why it does so well. again the docklands area in london. no-one thought that it would be this good and now it represents the financial district in uk. Business Bay will surpass these areas and more.

have a look at the thread and gain your own opinion.
