"No Delays", Good joke!!! I whish it would be that way, but i estimate everything is delayed by at least 18month!
Please keep us updated once you have called IMG! Just ask for Wadi Tower, Metro, IMG, Wadi Walk, Mall of Arbia etc... But don't expect too much, often they don't tell the truth or pretend that they dont realy know right now

Default Didyou?

Did you expect/know there would be this long period of delay at the time you bought the unit(s)?

Just spoke with IMG (master developer) and enquired about delays to Metro Tower. He said that it has been delayed until september 2009 and they will be revising my payment schedule accordingly. I expect to get the addendum by the first week of Jan.

Talk about confusion! When I called them up a second time, I was told that the completion date for metro tower is infact june 2009.

Kev, who do you speak to about the delay till march 2010? Was it the developer or an agent? how can they be so different, almost a full year difference?

The developer GIO directly. It's one of the Galadari's sons who owns this company and as far as I am aware is treated as a private developer in COA. I cannot comment as to the completion date of metro tower as I know nothing about it. Sorry.

Default dubailand vs lagoons (sama)

I was just thinking of the lagoons (seeing how well properties like business bay, culture village, old town are doing) leads me to believe lagoons is on the same course. It is unique, very central and upscale.

I know dubailand has a promising future, but with majority of it being residential, just wonder if the lustre of it is lost. This was supposed to be a themepark the likes of disney world, but I think it is falling far short, seems like it is 80% residential, possibly 90%.

Anyways, I still think my investment in metro tower will do good, but while I expect the 2bdrm apartment to reach a value of 1.9m-2m by completion, I feel that a 2 bdrm apartment in the lagoons (Sama not dubai lagoon) will probably reach 2.6-2.8m by completion.

Plus, the metro line will be ready long before cityofarabia's blue metro line (expected by 2015).

Anyone care to share their thoughts?

Lagoons is a project by Sama Dubai and is located in Ras Al Khor (near the bird sanctuary). I bought metro tower a couple of months before the lagoons were launched. When I checked the prices, they were about 1000dhs per sq ft, more than metro tower, so I was not too upset about my choice in city of arabia, but having seen how well old town has done, I am beginning to wonder if Lagoons was the better option. Too late now, anyway, because the first three buildings launched are all sold out.
