Default Considering relocation offer in Dubai

My company is offering me a job opportunity to get relocated to Dubai. I have the following questions and wondering if any friends in this Forum can help me with.

In our case, we are a household of 3, we have a 1-yr-old daughter.

1. How much income will give us (a household of 3) a fairly comfortable living in Dubai?

2. My company offers housing allowance to some extent, I am not sure how many % and how much it is going to be. And I am also wondering if it is common to ask for a car allowance as well. What about family assistance like for children's education assistance etc.? In case my spouse cannot land a job, we will have to consider to live on one single income opposed to what currently we are having by 2 incomes. So I just wanted to be prepared.

3. Renting an apartment: Do they usually come furnished or there are 2 types of offer available - with or without furniture

4. For a household of 3, how much does it come up to in terms of living cost, like for the basics of utilities, water, electricity, gas, food, etc.

5. Is it common and fairly cheap or expensive actually to hire a nanny? I have a 1-yr-old at home, so I will need a nanny or will have to put her into Daycare. How much will a normal daycare cost a week or a month?

6. What are the usual benefits in compensating employees with medical benefits, medical insurance, and retirement pension in general? Since I have a 1-yr-old and esp. my husband has high blood pressure and high cholesterol that require long term and regular treatment & prescription. I wonder how we can get the medical insurance covered.

Thanks a million!
Lukas

Default Considering relocation offer in Dubai

Hi,

I have been offered a great job in Dubai we live in Australia. After some research I am amazed at what some companies will offer you to relocate. See below for example.

Direct Contract Package: Gross salary from Dhs. 6,975 to Dhs. 9,070. Annual leave ? 38 days paid leave per working days, Air Ticket to employee, wife and 4 dependent children. Free married accommodation, plus one time payment Furniture Allowance. Educational assistance for 3 dependent children. Provide Medical Treatment, issue medical health cards, an adequate insurance cover on life, accident, illness and medical expenses. Bears the cost of the Residence Permits. Free interest Car Loan. Membership in Abu Dhabi Hotels.

This is only one example some companies give you more!

Good luck!
Malachi
