Default Help Please

Hi all.
New user to this site, so please bear with me.
My wife and I are relocating from the UK to Dubai on 05th January 2008.
We, together with my company have been looking for a short term rental until 31st January, by which time we would hope to have found a permanent residence.
The difficulty we are having is the fact we have a shih-tzu dog, very small, very well behaved.
Could anybody please assist, and possibly point us in the right direction.
Many thanks

You don't need dogs in dubai. I had to leave my dog behind when I lived over there for 6 months in 2005. First thing I did when I moved over was buy a camel, but gave me the right hump!

Hi Imtiaz

The difficulty we are having is finding a short term rental for about 1 month whilst we locate our permanent residence. The problem stems from the fact we have a small dog, and I am beginning to learn that Dubai is not exactly pet friendly.

Ok... tell me what is your preferred area? or where will you work, then I can find something close to your work place for you. And also let me know what sort of long term rental are you looking for, like area, type villa or apartment, how many bedrooms, your budget etc...

I am sure many like me will be able to help you!

And just for your information...I met a Kiwi couple a few months back and while having a conversation I asked them what was their feeling before they came to Dubai... after a little hesiatation they told me frankly that not many people advised them to come here because of the Arab and the Midle Eastern culture and links to the Islamist Terrorist etc... and I asked them what about after they had arrived, they told me how wrong those people were and how friendly and understading people they found here...

My point is.... Dubai is not as bad as what people will tell you.. and believe me there are sooooo many people here who have pets ( I have a cat!). If your dog does not make noise and you are in a friendly neighbourhood then you will have the same home like feeling as back home in your country.

Anything else, I will be more than happy to provide the information.

Regards,

Imtiaz

At the moment, to be honest there is a bit of a dilemma about where exactly we will end up, purely as my company are still placing people on 3 recently awarded contracts. Therefore, if you could be of some assistance and find us a 1 bed place from 5th to 31st January, that would be superb. Whatever you come up with will suffice for a month, then when we get there, everything will become clearer. Sorry the information is so vague, but that's it at the moment, as there are 3 projects, either end of dubai!
