I am not sure what to do. Do you think Buying a studio apartment in Dubai Marina is a sound investment or is it too early days yet, would it be better to give it 18 months then look into buying then? Or will I have missed the boat by then? I am planning on putting down a 3k non refundable deposit to Dubai Select for a studio apartment at The Point. With the view to rent out once it?s built. It sounds to me like most of these places aren?t built in time. It?s costing 75K. Can anyone give me any advice. I also have to take a mortgage out on my home to but it interest only. I think I should pull out before it goes to far.

Successful investing is all about timing. Canny investors were into Dubai 10 years ago and now they have moved on. All that remains are the inevitable non - investment minded purchasers.
Currently seasoned investors are moving into new markets such as Germany, Estonia, Hungary and Morocco. Even Kenya and Zanzibar.
You will never make serious money simply following old bandwagons get there before the crowd

you need to do your homework, property has only been open to investors and the expat community since 2002. Thats 5 years.

Dubai still has lots of good oppurtunities with demand for rental properties increasing as more folk move in to the area. Generally you are correct that in being first somewhere you make the most but you only have a few firsts. Thousand have and still are scooping up the cash in Dubai. Studios at only 35k inland and about 55 to 60k at Marina are top value as investment to live in or rent by any standards. If you can affors a few even better. Good luck to all.

There are still many opportunities in dubai and the UAE to make money. If you ask most people the world over, Marina Areas are normally always in demand as the cream of the crop normally search out these properties. Personally i reackon there will be a slight adjustment when JBR is fully handed over, but it won't decrease the value of the properties, just stabalise the prices for a short while for the marina area only. we will have to wait and see though. Marina is sill a good bet, just be wise with what you choose obviously.

I agree with Ratib ...Dubai marina is one of the prime locations and is in high demand ..I dont think the demand would go down as the location and access is really good ...
