Default First purchase in International City?

Hi all

I am new to the forum and have not purchased any apartments in Dubai but was looking at International City. What are people’s opinion for investing there?

I was looking at the Spain or China area and either studio or 1 bed apartments, is it a good place to start? I don’t mind holding on for capital growth.

What are the rental returns like? Is there a demand for renting there?

And lastly...is it best to get a mortgage over in Dubai or from here?

Any info you guys can provide will be much appreciated!!

Thanks in advance

Hitesh

Hitesh

All depends on what is your budget .IC is OK for rental rightnow as still demand is higher than supply.People bought there at 300K last year are renting at 55K per year at present. But after two years it will be changed.Think about Sports City , IMPZ , City of Arabia also.Make lots of research before you invest or follow some known friend's foot steps...All the best

Default my opinion

International city is in demand at the moment because is the cheapest most afordable project in Dubai in this moment.
The quality is not that great, it was created for the population with lower income and for such prices the quality is not what you might expect.
For rental income is ok.
Hitesh sugestion with Sports city is quite healthy, it a prestigious location, with high potential for rental and resale income able to please even the first time investors, quality is far better, finance is available in various projects and prices are quite reasonable.

Guys

Thanks for all the info, I think I will look closely at Sports City, and you’re absolutely right, research is key to finding the right place.

If I go for mortgage route, is it best to get a mortgage over in Dubai or better to get it here in the UK?

Have you guys bought in Sports City? What's a good development to be looking at over there and average price for an apartment?

Thanks

If you are not a UAE resident, then banks will not entertain you in Dubai. The rules in Dubai is that you should have worked in Dubai for 6 months or more.

If you are in the UK you can approach Global eye or John Charcol who have tie ups with banks locally.

International city is for the mid segment and might not do well in the future. Sports city is my horse. Having done investments in Dubai, my view is that sports city will do well and a studio near to any acadamies will do well.

Regards

Roshan
