Hi Derek,

I have been thinking ,what do you think about my new business idea for yourself?.
Hopefully my apartment will be ready end of march as will all of desert pearl and suleder developments.
Would you consider looking after my apartment whilst I am not in Egypt and maybe providing other property services for Forum members as you are on hand.(NOT MAINTENANCE).I know you want to retire but what a grand way to keep yourself active.
I hope you don't mind me posting my idea,i'm sure I wouldn't be the only one looking for this type of service. You could maybe call it PROPERTY SITTING LOL it would be a good addition to Propertywatch don't you think?..
WHAT DO YOU THINK PEOPLE,ANYBODY ELSE NOMINATE DEREK??????

Sounds like a great idea and would certainly keep Derek & Karen very busy. My wife and I do the same thing for a few of our clients in Spain, despite the fact that I refuse to take on fully property management. Many of these former 'clents' have now become firm friends and when they come out to use their apartments are more often than not just coming to see us! Un fact having told one person we were thinking of moving to Egypt she has immediately put her house in Spain up for sale!

Hi *********
That sounds like a good addition to sit alongside propertywatch1. We could meet and greet people as they arrive at your apartments and have a welcome pack ready for them with ( tea coffee water sugar fruit etc.)

We can make sure the apartments are clean and ready for clients before and after they leave. An be on hand if they need any help.

Also we would be on-site to check the apartment as the previous rental leaves to make sure everything is left as they found it.

This would give you some kind of peace of mind to know that your apartment has been inspected after your clients have left.

If anyone is interested please PM me then we can discuss it further.

Derek

Where most rental agencies fall down is that they charge a 'management fee' for which they are supposed to regularly check the apartment for damages or items missing from the inventory. You could certainly give peace of mind by doing this before and after each rental. In my experience its better to do this properly rather than take on too many properties and do half a job. I think you have a great opportunity to think it through, set it up properly and have many happy owners singing your praises.
(Don't worry! My consultancy fees are quite reasonable....!!!)

I am a bit confused here, When you buy an apartment like I have, does the company that you bought it off not sort out the rental and pickup service. I can send my parent's, friend's anyone to my apartment and email Iraida who we bought off and they will sort out the cleaning of my apartment and pick my guests up from the airport take them to shop for things needed and then to apartment also take them back to airport after holiday and then send cleaners in. I know I pay a charge for this but you would anyway. Do the company's building other blocks not do this?

Hi j4,

Not all developers offer this service,if you are being offered a better personal service for less then where would you go?.
The service being offered here by Derek does have that personal touch and just imagine walking in to your apartment and it been clean and having your basic items stocked up for you, tea, coffee, milk etc.
I will certainly use Dereks services as I think it makes sense.
Also if you are wanting to send people from the uk who want to rent at least the apartment can be checked over and cleaned once the visitors have departed.
I don't know if Derek will extend this to maybe paying bills etc for the owner that could be another good service.Anybody Agree/Disagree.

thanks Awahee,

But tell if im not right, if you have a choice to buy off a delevoper that can do all these sevices including bill pay and make sure everything is ok for you as mine does.

or buy off someone that has nothing to do with the development when it is finished and leaves you to sort out things yourself in a different country than what you live in.

ok maybe pay that little bit extra but knowing that your investment is well looked after is that little bit extra better being paid for piece of mind.

I do understand this service for someone with a villa that is locked up while noone is there.

Hi j4,

It's not for everyone but even if my developer offered these services I wouldn't want to take them up with the developer as you would probably end up paying them a lot more,if you are happy with who you are dealing with then it's understandable.
However I think we will see this business idea do well as it makes sense,it is a matter of trust and I would certainly trust Derek without doubt.
