I know there are several forum members coming to Hurghada in the next few weeks on property inspection trips.

I thought the following info might be helpful.

Here you can buy sim cards for your mobile from vodaphone-mobinil-etisalat.
The cost of a sim is 50 le then you just buy a top up card.
My wife has a mobinil sim which cost her the 50 le and then if she tops up she normally puts on a 25 le top up which cost all together 30 le as they top it for her in the phone shop.(they just scratch off the numbers off the card and put them into the phone like in UK).
I use etisalat i paid 50 le but at the moment in the abu ashara supermarket they are offering the sim for 25 le.
We both pay the same for calls back to the uk which are 3.5 le(3.5pence).
Far cheaper than you will be paying if you use your uk phones here to back home on.
Plus you will NOT be charged if anyone back in the uk phones you.(unlike in uk when you get charged twice if you use it abroad.)
My etisalat as an english language option so i can this up myself.
All you need to do is make your phone is open to any network...unblocked.
