Hi Stirrup cottage - Il Mercato is in Hadaba which is in a completely different area - the opposite way as you come out of the airport past Naama bay. Approx 20 mins from the airport and 30 from Nabq. There are not that many shops open at Il Mercato yet - Virgin has just opened, Body shop, Claires, Burgerking, Costa Coffee and KFC. Plus handful of others - if all the shops fill then it will be really good.

La Strada and Al Khan have shops like Puma, Lotto, Morgan, La Senza, Timberland, Harley Davidson etc etc etc.
I will get my wife to PM you later with more questions - I just pay the money!!

Default Update from the developer

Hi - for any buying on Sierra this is an update that I have received directly from the developer today

Dear ALISON

Greetings,

So SORRY for the late reply ,i had extended my visit to SHARM due to long list of topics i had to solve ,please accept my apologies.

now concerning zone 3 where Building 40 is located its improving -but building 40 is still not ready -we discussed it with my site engineers and they promised will be ready by end March.i know you might be upset but please don't -the site is looking more than great and electricity is now underway( sierra will be on the grid next sunday) they are working already(checking cables and power house and transformers) .
engineers from the suppliers and vendors and the electrical department are in the site as we speak -but they promise to finish next sunday.

water tank is filled and pumps are there(only the fire pumps still on the way cause it was shipped from Europe like 10 days ago and i think it need another week in customs then will be transported to the site and will be installed then.(it took 4 month to be delivered from the manufacturer) that why it took so long. i only mention it just now cause we got the shipping info.

landscaping is in progress and i can say now by the time your unit will be ready Zone 2-3-4-5 will be almost ready so the picture will be much different than now inside the Zones.

please contact me again in 2 weeks to check the progress and update you with the situation in the site.

BEST REGARDS.

TAREK SOKKAR

Thanks Nutty.

I am quite fortunate that I have an email address direct to the developer so I can get the updates from the horses mouth. So far he has been very very good at answering my emails really quickly.

Watch this space!

Hi all

Just found out through the agents website that prices for Sierra will increase by another 10% from 15th March.

The new prices for the same apartment that I have bought will be over £32,000 - not bad as we paid under £22,000 in October less than 5 months ago.

Thanks Peter and Isab - must admit I was quite chuffed when I saw it. They have now sold all the top floor apartments and have about 50 middle and ground floor left.

Default Supermarket and shop units

Hi to any Sierra buyers

I have just noticed on the Agents website that the supermarket located at Sierra has now gone on sale along with 48 shop units as well.

This must be positive news that things are moving along.

I am getting excited as I did not know about the 48 shop units on site - just thought there was going to be an ' Asda sized ' supermarket ( agents words not mine )

I dont think there is any news yet on which chain is going to buy the hotel but there have been rumours that the Hilton Group have shown interest. This would be great to own and advertise your apartment that is on a resort which includes a Hilton Hotel.

I emailed the developer last week after his site visit on the 20th for an update.

Apparently, for reasons not known as yet, the 1st phase handover on 20th DID NOT go ahead.

Another buyer is currently in Sharm and said that the pool area for blocks 1 - 7 is nearly complete and they have even filled the pool ( assume with water! )

As soon as I have another update and more info I will post here.
