You should just catch Alison. She's there now and returns on the 22nd. Might be an idea to PM her as I know she logs on when she can.

Question Abbas El Bahrawy

Hi Martin

Sorry not to have replied before only just picked up your thread.

Don't understand what's happening with Abbas. We emailed him several times over the past few months to the address on his business card ie abbaslawyer_1@yahoo.com but received no reply. Then SRE told us he had a new email: egyptian-lawyer.com so tried that many times to no avail, also asked SRE to ask him to email us - no luck. In desperation tried to fax him but that was no good and finally got him on the phone on 29th Sept and he told us he would email us with his new address so that we could send him the contracts by DHL and he would get them notarized. Still not heard a word so will take the contracts with us when we go to Sierra for handover (hopefully) first week in November.

We find the lack of response a bit worrying but if you or anyone else out there knows how to contact him we'd be grateful to know!

Robin & Jane

A Message yesterday from The Developer Of Sierra taken from another forum

I still find myself must reply for the worreid customers for not beeing able to rent the UNITS -due to the fact that the hotel not finished. that is not true or at least not correct- we already have rented flats and many owners are living in - i might say it is still building site in my eyes but we add ZONE after the other and till march it was only ZONE1 is subject to handover - now you will find people in 6 ZONES and all the 7 zones will be ready ( only one pool is still missing) but starting november the picture will change.

we are currently increasing the speed in phase 2 ( buildings above 60)
we will start finishing them soon , i'm busy now contracting all requirement - the work in the hotel is also progressing ( i only focus now on main building - too many details is currently under revision and as you know the increase of size of the project some modification still needed ( that caused further delays)

****** my main concern is handover my eager clients and try to calm down the concerned customers who did not have the units in time- that is my periority. till now the hotel is moving but no date set for opening. if SRE said 2 years - i can't comment - since it is just speculations -or someone is fishing in shallow water.

When asked if he could clarify what the piece of land between Sierra & Sharm Bride would be used for he replied

this peice of land is set in the master plan of NABQ as landscape and not to be sold ( we already kept asking to buy it and they know if it will be sold ( we have periority) but they keep saying it will not.
end of story.

Well I'm sure we can speculate about the development of this piece of land and come up with some intersting rumours! Perhaps they will build the great Nabq pyramid there!

to be fair we were told from the outset that this land was not theirs and that they could not be sure what would happen on it.

In some ways it is encourgaing if it is part of the master plan, as long as it's not the site of Egypt's largest nigtclub.

Perhaps it will be laid aside as a tranquil park for the local population to enjoy their Friday afternoons.

Better still we could see who can come up with the best suggestion for it's usage?

You can tell I'm bored.....

Hi everyone

I recently e mailed the developer regarding a progres report on the unit we have purchased 65B1/2. Below is the response I received

Your zone (8) is planned to be ready in june, I will recieve recent photos for your apartment and building from our team in sharm and send them back to you,
We have launched the official website of Sierra Resort S I E R R A - R E S O R T where you can view recent photos for finished zones,

Our original completeion date was April 2008 so I suppose June isn't too bad although there could be a slight possibility that it may be finished before then.
I'd not seen the website he mentions on this forum before and for those who have bought in zones 1 - 7 it may give them an insight into what stage their apartments are at. There is also a mention regarding the beach and access to it for a fee of 5 EGP pppd.

Developers have again shown a real commitment to developing a first class resort for us and I think this website looks professional and attractive. It will, I am sure grow with more information, pictures etc. which will benefit those who wish to let out properties.

The main photos are up to date but the others arefrom April and so not really that helpful in updating us. For example our appt have moved on considerably since these photos.

Anyway well done to the developers!

Iain

Got to agree with you there Iain, the developers are showing a real commitment to people who have bought on Sierra.

I only wish that other developers would take note and follow, trying to get a response from the developers of either Sharm Bride or La Sierrena is impossible.

So I would also like to say well done to the Sierra developers
