Talking Hi Mark and Martine

Hi Mark and Martine, welocme

we have bought 22A12 so next block neighbours.

Were almost as crazy as you in that we had a holiday in Jan - took a look at some properties which we have always said we would never do - and the idea grew on us over the next couple of months (and a price rise!).

Anyway we are now really looking forward to using our appartment for us and our boys (19 and 21 year olds) and perhaps renting out as well but not banking on that too much.

We also thinking of furniture package to avoid hassle and think easier if let out ( as hotel will know standard) though still considering fitting out ourselves which also give nore excuses to visit whilst organising.

Look forward to meeting you guys sometime in the future.

Feel free to contact about anything (although Alison much more knowledgable on this). Also fell free to PM us on any matters - I am a spoadic user of the computer as i work very odd and long hours at times - but will get back eventually,
Iain

Hi Tony we have bought 40A2.

No hassle as we are all here to help each other so dont worry.
Any other Sierra buyers will have put a post on this thread so this is where you will find other purchasers on Sierra. A thread is a topic relating to something such as Sharm and all posts are made within that certain thread.
Here is a link to some info about using the site that you may find useful http://www.totallyproperty.com/faq.p..._read_and_post
You can search for a certain thread or post. On the front page under the page numbers on the right hand side you will see Search This Forum - click on this and write in what you are looking for eg Sierra and you can choose to either search threads for Sierra or posts for Sierra - hope this makes sense.
When you post there is an option to post a quick reply as well as a longer one. Im sure you will get used to it. But please ask anything you dont understand.

As for El Tor - this is a place that is about an hours drive away from Sharm. The passport and government notary offices are based here. I went to the passport office to get my multi entry visa and residents visa. Without these you cannot give Power of Attorney to your lawyer which is needed to register in the Cairo Courts. Once you have been to the passport office you then take your passport to the government office where they issue POA which you pass onto your lawyer. I believe this can be done in the UK but you would need to ask Zeiad ( Egyptian lawyer ). You can post any legal questions here http://www.totallyproperty.com/egypt...rty-egypt.html and Zeiad will answer them for you.

Hope this helps

Regards

Alison

Hi Tony,

You'll pick it up quickly - don't worry about asking questions even if you think they're silly ones. Most of us have asked the same at the beginning. It took me a while to find my way around the forum and I still ask questions about it from time to time (in fact Alison helped me out yesterday!).
Another good post and you should be able to use the private messaging system too.

Hi Tony

In addition to Alison's info - which as always is spot on - Zeiad is arranging our POA, but I am doing it in UK via notary public (to verify the signature), the Foreign and commonwealth office and the Egyptian Embassy in London. Sound complicated but there are courier companies whio can help if you are not near London.

Of course it is probably cheaper in Egypt but for us, the UK route means we can arrange and sort it out here. I'll post when I've gone through the process and see if I still feel the same!

Hi Iain thanks for the info on how to obtain in the UK. We were fortunate to be out in Sharm last October and used this time to get the POA sorted otherwise we would have gone down the same route as you as it would certainly be alot cheaper than flying out to Sharm to arrange it - good excuse for another holiday though!!

Yes I'm good at silly questions too - then I find the answers 20 threads back! Can take a lot of time to trawl for answers although searh helps a lot.

Bye the way we are arranging POA with Zeiad via notary public, Foreigh and Commonwealth office and Egyptian Embassy in London. I'll post when completed to let you know how easy it was, but may be a good way to get things moving without a visit to Egypt.
