Default Increase in electricity prices

Hi all

I understand that the electricity prices have been increased this month and it will be reflected in your Jan bills. I know that the cost of electricity is a lot lower than the UK but I am curious to know how much % it has been increased by.

Maybe a resident could let us know when they receive their next bill and make a comparison against Jan last years bill??

Thanks

Queenie.

It would be very interesting to get a handle on all utility costs as this is part of the entire buying equation. It would also be interesting to know if anyone has had solar panels installed? There no shortage of sunshine and you would expect the government to offer incentives. Anyone know anything about this?

My utility billas have been slowly increasing over the last few months. Started off paying 28 EGP for a quarter and now averaging around 45-70 EGP per month. Still cheap as chips and I do sleep with the airco on throughout winter and summer!

The above prices are still cheap compared to the Uk,that's what makes Egypt so attractive at the moment.

Good question - some parts have running water I think - other have it shipped in by tankers so may be a two tier system for pricing.

How does it get metered ?

Let me know - when will you move in.

I'm not planning to use a water meter per apartment since most owners will not be living in all year but maybe I should give it some more thought .
