Question Visa

Hello
This morning i renewed my 12 month visa and re-entry visa at the passport office here in Hurghada. I took note of the charges for each visa type and thought it might benefit some of you out there.

TOURIS VISA:LESS THAN 6 MONTHS...............11 LE ........ 10 piasters

RESIDENCY VISA FOR NON TOURIST
FOR LESS THAN 6 MONTHS .....................61 LE ......... 10 piasters

TOURIST + NON TOURIST VISA MORE
THAN 6 MONTHS + LESS THAN 1 YEAR.............61 LE .......... 10 piasters

TOURIST + NON TOURIST RESIDENCY
VISA FOR 1 YEAR ................... 91 LE .......... 10 piasters

RESIDENCY VISA FOR 3 YEARS .................. 151 LE .......... 10 piasters

RESIDENCY VISA FOR 5 YEARS .................. 211 LE .......... 10 piasters

MULTIPLE ENTRY VISA 6 MONTHS ..................61 LE ............10 piasters

RETURN VISA FOR DEPARTING
THE COUNTRY ONCE ........................51 LE ............10 piasters

FINE FOR NOT RENEWING VISA
WHEN IT EXPIRES .......................153 LE ............40 piasters

FINE FOR NOT OBTAINING THE
REGISTRATION OF COUNTRY .......................123 LE ............40 piasters

YOU WILL NEED FOR A VISA THE FOLLOWING:-

Passport photograph x 1
photocopies of passport x 2
photocopy of your last visa stamp x 1

Go to passport office early in the morning and expect long queues ( unless you have a friend in the department) you will need to complete visa forms.
These you hand back with the above including the correct fees and return for passport with added visa stamp.

Hope this information is usefull. I hear all kinds of prices talked about but be assured that the information i have posted is correct and taken from the passport office today. And all prices are in Egyptian currency

I'm not sure that the "cost" at the airport is actually fixed - I've been many time and paid different amounts - always seems to get togther at less than the price of one - twice.

If you have a "contact" in arrivals hall it cost less than the "standard" price.

For anyone travelling more than once in a twelve month period it is worthwhile getting the one year visa, but is at the cost of most of a days holiday for someone to take the passposts get all the copies etc - it is a nuisance since it is a two visit process (same day) and you need someone to get you "organised" and show you where to go - do it during the winter - it's too hot to hang about during the summer - also you need an "address" in Hurghada that you can claim to be your residence - so that they can find you if you have not left at the end of your visa I suppose.

Hi

I read this week that the visa's were changing from August instead of the two stamps they were changing it to one stamp with the price on 15 dollors, so that will stop the different charges at the airport. I cannot find the site now but I am over in Hurghada on friday for a couple of weeks so I will let you all know when I return.

You are correct about the physical visa stamp - it is now a large sticker with nice shiny centre piece with a $15 price on it - for use at the airport.

The Passport / Visa office office were still using a real STAMP with hand written dates and signatures in September.

you can get visa's at airport for £10 if you get yearly visa's you have to get re entry passes too because you will be coming back to uk, also if you go for the yearly visa you will spend a day of you holiday at the passport office and would need an egyptian to go with you, when you do the handover Iraida take you to passport office and sort that out when you sigh for your apartment so I would advise just the visa at the airport will do.
