The post before yours is the first I've heard about the progress on this development. It's all gone really quiet.

Good news. Please could somebody let us know when they receive theirs? It would be great to get some input on this thread again.

Talk is cheap and so is sending a contract and demanding money, what we all would like answers to is...

when will the governor approve the project?

when will building work start?

I have been informed that the project has been approved by the Red Sea Governor and the licence will soon be issued to PHW/First Leisure, this was the cause of the delay in issuing contracts all along. It is in the clients interests for all legal documentation to be correct before they are asked to send over full deposits, and so far all buyers have had to pay is £1,000 to hold their chosen property. I have just this minute spoken with the lawyers office and it has been confirmed that contracts will only be exchanged when they have a copy of the new licence, which should be through in a couple of weeks. This gives buyers the chance to have a good read through their contracts and get their 40% deposits ready. Further stage payments are now linked to building progress, which is more beneficial to buyers - this will be outlined in the contract.

First you say the above about contracts now being sent out, then you say this below.

And if they decided to pull out they lost solicitors fees. I don't understand why this should be infact, as by the time I withdrew, the solicitor had done absolutely nothing to warrent any sort of fee.

The first 50 contracts were being sent out yesterday. This gives buyers time to read through the contents, terms and conditions of the sale before signing and returning the contract. When the new licence has been issued contracts will be exchanged.

If buyers have any concerns regarding legal fees they really should take this up with the lawyer directly.

I'm well aware of that Like most, I went with the lawyer recommended by the developer. My point is that by the time I pulled out, there was absolutely nothing to show for the fee the lawyer charged. As the developer is only now at contract stage it seems wrong that we had to pay a large amount for nothing.
