Default Insurance

I've been having several chats with IntaSure the insurance company, moaned at them for playing around and not being professional.

Buildings:
They gave me a quote based on 2bed, Buildings cover at £25k. I told them that that may well cover the cost of the rebuild, but you can't build an apartment on the second floor if the guy underneath isn't covered. What are they doing to ensure that the whole building is covered.

They then "say" that all apartments are insured with them. I said how can they say that when mine isn't and I'm in my full rights to insure with another company who may offer a better deal (which I may be doing). It cannot be a true statement if I do this.

They then sent me another quote with buildings at £40k, I questioned why they've changed it. They came back and said the £25k cover was for studios. This seems excessive for a "rebuild" cost, as some of the 2bed have been SOLD less than this. Rebuild should be "much" less than what was paid by end users, probably around a 3rd of the resale cost (or at least half).

Basically I think we need an open discussion to ensure that we are all being quoted the same and have the same buildings cover offered and quote. Contents is different, some may want more cover if they add extra things like games consoles or bigger TVs.

Quote 1: Buildings cover £25k, contents £7k = £167.98 (£149.98 +£18 admin)
Quote 2: Buildings cover £40k, contents £7k = £208.97 (£190.97 +£18 admin)

My problem now, is if I had taken out the first quote without question, they now say that only covers a studio, they then said the new quote is for the 1bed deluxe, but I have a 2bed. So basically I think you need to check you have adequate cover. If the worst happens (building falls down, plane crashes in to it, etc) and you have a 2bed but are only covered for a studio, then they could end up charging you a fortune on top to rebuild. Best to get them to specify these details NOW.

Its like taking out an insurance policy in UK to cover a terrace when you own a semi. They won't pay out!

Hi they charge £25 if you are renting so if above includes rental just subtract £25 from the total.

Default Diving gear

Hi
Anybody know where you can stash your diving gear safely at DP1 if your renting out your unit, that's assuming you intend to leave some out there instead of carting it backwards and forwards and paying the EXCESS baggage all the time

Why have they asked you to post this for them, don't get me wrong but you are one of the buyers not an employee of WWD. Surely it would be far more professional for them to e-mail/write to everyone and explain for themselves, it does not take long. I have checked all my documents that they have sent to me and there are no facts about anything apart from when they are asking for money, they are quick enough to send out e-mails for that. There is an old saying that there is no smoke without fire.

Very worried indeed Kia
