Why are they calling it Oasis 'Marina'? You can see on Google Earth it is a long way out until you find deep water and then you have the reef. Just further south you can see the Calimera Hotel and their jetty out to a tiny channel through the reef where their snorkelling boats leave from.

My friend has a villa just before the Calimera Hotel. It is a beautiful area when it is high tide. When the tide goes out it is ankle deep and you can walk across the sand to the reef and snorkel and it is wonderful. However, mosquitoes are a real problem here and he gets eaten alive so has to have chemicals sprayed all over his villa and gardens. The hotel smokes out the mossies but they have to do this everyday and it doesn't get rid of them completely.

Here in El Gouna they smoke the mossies everyday but I know the apartments and villas on the edges have problems. Especially near the golf course. At least in the summer it is too hot and they disappear

Thumbs up Oasis Marina

Hi, I'm new to this forum. Have just reserved a ground floor 2 bedroom villa apartment at this new resort. We are taking advantage of the 25% discount on a turnkey purchase. According to the information we've been given I can confirm that we will receive 8% (of the gross price before 25% discount) rental income per annum guaranteed for 5 yrs and the manager/maintenance charges will be £800 capped for 3 yrs, this will probably be payable in advance for the first year and will be subtracted from the 8% return in subsequent years prior to being transferred to our bank account.

We have two solicitor recommendations, one in Sharm el Sheikh and one in the UK. Tempted to use the Sharm solicitor at a quarter of the cost, can anyone advise what they did and the best way to go in their opinion?

Suzanne

Default Solicitor

Hi suzane, I also purchased a 2 bed apartment with 25% discount offer. I have hired a solicitor from Maxgold company, here in UK. He did conveyancing for my property in Sahl as well. He is bit expensive but very professional. we are investing a lot of money in Egypt, might as well spend some for a good solicitor.

PM me when you're able, if you want any more info.

cheers.

Thanks Chandra, I'll possibly be in touch, see what the two solicitors I have contacted have to say first.

We're going to El Guona on the 18th July for two weeks, family holiday staying at the Movenpick Resort and Spa. The property agent is going to arrange a meeting for us with the developers whilst we're there, so we can have a look at the site and view other property these developers have built, so they can show off their workmanship to us. Is anyone else from this forum going to be in the area around this time, may be nice to meet up one evening for a drink and chat??

Hi SuziQ welcome to the forum. It is great that you are considering buying in Egypt; Oasis Marina is a good project and you may wish to contact our forum lawyer Zeiad as he has access to all of the Due Diligence for this project. There are many people on the forum who can give you good advice.
