Hi all, yes it is sorted and they are fitting individual meters to each apartment. The only problem is that they need signing over individually to each owner, this is a government restriction not a WWD one. This is why people going out to complete have had to sign over PoA to the solicitor because as with everything to do with local authorities here or abroad it takes weeks to complete and sign over.

I know it has been more hassle but it will certainly make things easier in the future and i would say to anyone else buying in other developments check what meters are being fitted. It seems the Egyptians are just fitting one per block if not project managed by anyone and it could cause problems with bills and future resale. There is a cost involved but well worth it.

If anyone has any further questions please let me know.

Hi yes, but its the length of time people are having to wait after signing, for the fitting of the meters. Some people are going over to sign, and fully expecting to be able to stay in the apartments.

Yes they are but it is not just the meters, the apartments have not been furnished and the problem is people have rushed over to stay in their apartments when really they should have waited. No construction ever runs to time and D'Elise did have a 6 weeks installation period from finishing so i think the biggest lesson taken from this is don't book your holiday until you know your apartment is ready and furnished.

Well said Neil....I am waiting till all is finished till I go out to enjoy my apartment, although I can understand the desire to go there as soon as possible that people have. Many thanks for all of your postings because they have been very informative and helpfull.
Alan

Thanks Neil, I'm sure I will enjoy...I like Hurghada and was there in June and November last year to see the development of Desert Pearl. Certainly the recent photos look great. I do like Egypt alot and visit Luxor each year, sometimes more than once...as they say, the sun always shines in Egypt.

Cheers, Alan

Thumbs down

I thought I had waited. My lawer at red sea lawyers in Egypt emailed me back in febuary to tell me the appartment was complete. Im not going with the furniture pack so this trip was to kit the place out. I just got an email today from a different person at Red Sea Lawyers telling me they dont have my passport or even my contract..... GREAT!

I dont know what not having those items means but im guessing it doesn't mean my appartment is ready like i was told. I dont really know what to do im meant to fly out on tuesday. Im thinking that canceling the trip and forfiting the £200 for tickets may be the cheapest option rather than wasting a trip out there and not being able to do anything....

Find the email from Feb and get the persons name and call them. It might be the new person can't find it, worth a try?
