Unhappy picasso divers

Have not been on the forum for ages but we have just been to Hurghada and visited Desert Pearl. There are people living there now and none of them are happy but are not telling people on the forum. Now that some of you are going and looking for yourselves you can see how bad these apartments are and you cannot use the pool it's discussing and really dirty. If you are unhappy you should be telling everyone and then we can all get together and have an owners club with our own choice of people to clean the pool, windows etc. For those of you that had a go at my hubby for trying to tell you what the place was really like, and are unhappy now you have seen it for yourselves owe him an apology. We honesty wish we had never bought the place and would never buy anything from WWD again. I am truly thinking of going to all the International Property Shows and standing near the WWD desk to warn people not to buy from them, they have not done me any favours. We have paid all this money for a 5 star resort and we have no water pressure, no reinforced front door (they have put another lock on it but it's still not a reinforced door), no extractor in the bathroom, we personally are not in the gated area, our windows that are falling out and not only that but as of yesterday there were no bar, shops, business centre, gym or anything at all for that matter, it's a disgrace. I have been on to the Association of International Property Professionals and they have sent me a complaints form so if anyone wants a copy then I will be happy to send one to you, let me know. Our only chance now is if we all stand together. Jax

On our visit last week the exterior looked quite nice, we only saw one apartment brought by three lads from liverpool who were intially not happy but got all there snagging done in the week. Obviously WWD should be informing you when the facilities are available as this is important for owners, and the pool should be sorted, i would be reluctant to complete untill all this was sorted, we are buyng on suleder and hopefully will not encounter the same problems. Why no PM Rivermead he seems to have his finger on the pulse with WWD.

All the best

I take on board what you are saying, but I really can not understand why people have parted with thier money BEFORE going out and inspecting for them selves. Many people seem to be waiting to be guided through the process without getting up and out there. The water pressure will not ever be the same as in the UK, that is a fact,( re rainfall). However, I have not been over yet, we will do the snagging ourselves and once we are happy, I will then pay. If you have paid first, you have no leverage.

We paid for ours because WWD said it had been snagged by their guy and everything was fab. So we took M Lynn at his word and paid but we nearly fell over when we got there. We are taking a party of 20 friends over in October and were going to ask if anyone was renting out so we could book accommodation for them but we are a bit worried about doing that now as we do not want our friends to be let down. One of them will have a 40th birthday while we are there and were also hoping the bar and everything would be finished but the way things are moving it looks bleak. Jax

I am also going out in June (13th) and I'm sure all will be sorted by then.
I think that this is WWD's first project in Egypt, dealing with Egyptian builders and Legal issues etc, so I'm sure they are learning from the problems with DP1 and taking on board for their other developements. As I've said before Hurghada and the Red Sea is a fantastic place to own an appartment and I'm sure when all the problems are sorted then we will all be happy to be there, whether it be to just a holiday or to stay.

No Sarah I think you are right. Some of the advertising blurb did say 'poolside bar attendance' , which may lead people to believe that an open bar would be available. My understanding is as u say, cafe' and gym.
It may be worth mentioning that in Egypt, as in many other countries 'finished ' refers to the building, not neccessary applying to the interieors, or even the installation of windows etc. Thus, we really need to allow a good 12 months after full completion for all to be up and running smoothly. I'm sure it will be. Having said this, I have not yet seen DP1 for myself!!!!!!!!!
However, this does not excuse Jax being told by WWD that their apartment was snagged and up to standard. Looking on the bright side, I have read comments on this forum from purchasers who are happy with the end product. I am awaiting the return of Scotty Mac, who is there at present, see what has comments are.
