Hi anokayperson

Would appreciate that. :-)

Do you know where the El Kawther Touristic area is?

Default Senzo

I drove past senzo yesterday I would be surprised if it opened this side of Christmas.

El Kawther is the area where Esplanade is, around Sinbad.

Senzo Mall is coming on in leaps and bounds but I still think it will be up to a year before it is fully open for business.

El Kawser is basically the part of Hurghada that is between the airport and the Village Road/Esplanade area.

I passed Senzo a couple of days ago. It's coming on quite nicely, but it doesn't look to me as if it's going to keep to its Summer 2008 opening. Either autumn or before the end of the year would be my best estimate.

Default great news for supermarket seekers in Hurghada

Fond of hypermarkets, I am thrilled at the news that an enormous one is being built but I do not know exactly where it means when it says centre of Hurghada. However its name is SENZO MALL Hurghada. They even have an amazing website showing artist impressions. It will have an indoor cinema, restaurants, bars and many shops. If anyone knows which hotel it is close to, then that will give a bit of an indication of its location.

It is in the south of Hurghada in an area called Magawish - not far from the southern end of the runway at the airport. Nearest hotel I think would be the Sunrise Mamlouk Palace.

It's coming along - but is behind schedule. I think that it should be ready around the end of the year though.

They are bound to come over time, but don't hold your breath.

I can see that pretty much all of the coast road from Hurghada to El Gouna will become similar to the Village Road area of Central Hurghada.

There's no way that the retailers of Egypt are going to leave the thousands of tourists that will be living in the area once all of the hotels and apartment coplexes are complete without many options for eating, drinking and purchasing papyrus, Cleopatra busts and fake Armani T-shirts.

I reckon that it will take a decade or so before the area is fully built up, but the first of the retailers will start moving in well before then.

Yes Nick, these are my thoughts too. But there was talk of a major supermarket (Carrefour I think) applying for plans in that area a few weeks ago on this site.
