Sounds logical; when I first moved to Spain we were near Cadiz in the far south west. We had to have a 1.3 metre dish there when the Costa del Sol was using one half the size. Now with digital I think everyone needs the bigger dish.

If you are running it through Sky, then I would imagine that your Skybox would need to be on, but I would doubt that you would need to have your TV working.

I'm actually quite surprised to hear that you can get Sky so far from the UK even if you had a dish the size of Jodrell Bank!

on which satellite are these channels you are looking for? We have a dish where we have ASTRA (19.2) on. Officially ASTRA sattelite is out of area in Hurghada, but with a larger dish you can receive it.

Hi con I have asked that question but not got advise yet, you can buy them in Hurghada but the price seems to be alot more than here. I will look into it in April when over there and also what the airports will charge you if you take one from this country. They are not something you can just pack in suit case. Got the bubble rap for the dvd player to take with us

Would defo be worth knowing what the tax would be if you took a lcd tv through customs wouldnt it. We bought a small 15" widescreen tv/dvd combi (for the bedrooms)for £100 just before Christmas and I am going to take that in the suitcase but we were wondering about what to do for the lounge!

HI
Not yet! Last year we decided to purchase on Suleder through a UK based agent. We paid a deposit to their Egyptian Lawyer pending the contracts. After not being able to get a few issues sorted with the contracts we pulled out last Nov. Problem now being that we are having difficulty getting our monies refunded from the lawyer.
I am wanting to purchase on Regency Towers but need to get our £18K refunded before commiting to something else.
It is so frustrating - I just want to get sorted and start to enjoy!
Sue x
