If you've got Sky plus you'll have to record it while you're in Egypt as none of the satellites show Home and Away!

Oh wot!! None of them!! Oh well my daughters will have to record it for me! Lol

Maybe not Home & Away but we have just subscribed to Showtime on Astra and we can get Emmerdale, Coronation Street and Eastenders! Also Waking the Dead, CSI and many many more English chanels.

For a change I already beat you to it with that info Peter!! We only get Eastenders on Orbit though - BBC Prime. Which channel do you get it on Showtime?

Both available on Show Series and Show Series Extra although a bit behind the latest UK plot.

Yep but not Eastenders methinks. If we could get that on Showtime i wouldn't bother with Orbit as sadly, thats about the only reason we subscribe with them

Advice regarding watching English speaking satellite channels in Hurghada. In Oasis Resort we will have a communal satellite link but I was wondering what English speaking channels are we likely to receive. Is it possible to receive Sky documantaries in Hurghada area and does a Skybox pick the channels up. I thought maybe people already settled in Egypt and Ex pats may know the answer to this.

I have merged your thread here where you wll find lots of info. I get about 60 channels which include BBC Primetime, Showtime sports ( shows premier football matches ) Showtime Comedy and Showtime films to name a few. I also get Coronation Street and Emmerdale. Eastenders was just a week behind. There are quite a few sports channels showing golf, cricket, rugby, snooker etc as well.
I did write down every channel but I cant find it!

Thats lovely, if you hear if I can pick up . lonely planet, travel channel etc please let me know , I think if I bring my sky receiver and bring a portable satellite and align it to face astra, I may get some sky channels
