OOOOOOOOOOO no no no In the horse world they are the worst! Best advice I have been given was to ask your vet which 1 he prefers to deal with. Not sure if S.E.I.B insure dogs but they have a fantastic reputation. It's a minefield trying to find a decent insurance company for animals.

I had one dog and wanted another to keep the first one company, I asked the vet here in Hurghada to find me another. After a few days he phoned me to say he had one and could I go and see him that night. When I got there the man (Egyptian) who owned him had sent him with this so called dog trainer. He asked the vet to go outside to him, when they returned they brought the dog in but he was walking on 3 legs, the vet informed me that he had just fell out of the taxi. I asked the vet to do an X-ray which he did and found that his hip was broken. The vet advised me not to take him due to his broken hip and also because the dog was a nervous wreck. I phoned my husband and explained what had happened so he asked to speak to the vet, my husband asked if it was possible to operate to put the hip right, the vet said yes he could operate. My husband spoke to me and said we would still take the dog and have him operated on regardless, because if we didnt take him the owner would not be able to sell him to anyone else and neither would the owner pay for an operation.

We paid the owner for the dog and left him at the vets where he was operated on. One week later we went to pick him up and bring him home where we nursed him for another month. He now walks on four legs, but we are working on his confidence now, he is getting better day by day. I have a dog trainer who comes every other day to train both of them and to get his confidence back. I love them to bits!!!

The operation for his broken hip cost 1000le (Egyptian Pounds) and worth every penny or piastre should I say LOL.

How much would that have cost in England?

A great deal more than 1000LE, you could probably change that to GBP and it would be close.

Had them both neutered and that was 200le each. He is a very good vet, he collects the street dogs and gets them spayed or neutered, gives them rabies jabs and tries to find them good homes.

Ahhh Snowhite bless - what a lovely story - must admit I probably would have done the same as the outcome otherwise would have been the dog being left untreated in alot of pain I would imagine.

I was thinking about getting Tyson done and last time I enquired the cost was over £100. Paul said Im not allowed as Tyson would miss them so much as he is always licking them lol. I said I have read that you can get artificial ones put in!
