Hi Alison, Thank you very much for the information. Yes this is true, you do get hassled every where you go and it is a right pain in the xxxx! If they left us alone we would shop more. I usually try and avoid places where you are more likely to get hassled, but it doesn't bother Wayne, he thinks it's funny. Cheers

Hi Linda, It's the argueing over prices and being hassled that bothers me, when your on your own, without your man. I know I will have to do it sooner or later. I suppose it's just getting over the first time. Thank you for your reassurance. Not to worry I will do it. lol

Hi Everyone

I am just about to apply for my multi entry visa..but not sure if i should, there was a couple at the airport who had them when i went in March. They seemed to be having a problem with them...they were being told there not valid and they had to pay £10.the women was showing them a stamp and saying it was from the embassy in London. But they were having none of it...they let her through after alot of shouting and some intervention of another passenger not sure what was said though. On the event that this happens to me would the threat of the tourist police be enough to make them understand i hate the thought of all that hassle after the flight.

On another subject would anyone know if the new shop being built by the B.R is open yet ?. If not were do i get my water ? i havent stayed there yet so not sure were to go for bread milk etc.

Hi Kazzer it sounds like another scam to get more money out of us. Stick to your guns. If they do not accept it ask why then if you are not satisfied you will need to ask for the manager and if none is available then ask them to call the tourist police. We do not need this hassle after the flight. I must admit that I didnt have any probs with my multi entry visa entering Sharm but then again a visa is not compulsory if you do not leave Sinai.

Hi Kazzer

I don't know if the shop you are referring to has been built, but there used to be a small shop directly opposite the British resort selling water and other items
For a better supermarket walk down towards the promenade turn left and walk in front of the desert pearl then right, just before you reach the prom you will come to a fantastic supermarket selling european branded goods, bank next door for changing money if you spend to much!
There is also a small supermarket next to the Winking Frog, again a short walk from the B R and you can grab a quick drink at the same time (essential on a hot day)
There is a British run Supermarket and Deli opening in the Regency Towers (next door) at some stage in the future.

I hope this help

Default Winking Frog

Hi Dawn
The Winking Frog is a British owned pub which serves food- they have a curry night and they are pretty good, do take away as well- they serve other food as well and the only place we found that served baked beans, they have a big screen and show all the sport and have a free pool table. Andrew thinks he's in heaven! It's about 150 yards from the Towers and became our local.

I read your another thread about being nervous going out on your own. Down on the promenade you don't get hassled at all, the shopkeepers aren't allowed to. I enjoyed going into Sekalla on my own I was very polite said no thank you and carried on walking. Don't stop just keep going.

We found a really good taxi driver who spoke good English and didn't think he was a formula 1 driver! He took me shopping quite a few times and came into the shops and translated for me. I have his mobile number so let me know if you want it when you go out there he was really good.

I have a young family 3 children, and want to invest in a 2 bed apartment both as an investment and also for us to use. I have never been to Egypt before so want to know if it is family friendly ?

If so where is the best place to buy ? Is a resort better because of the security and facilities ?

I think the prices at the moment make it affordable and some seem to offer guaranteed rental for up to 5 years which sems attractive.

I would like to come out and look myself does anyone know the best place to start. I like the look of Hughada and Marsa Alam.

Any advice gladly received.

Jon
Dear Jon
